I know that both will take care of ich but is there anything copper can treat that hyposaline cant?

I am in the process of stocking my newly redone 210.
I have a regal angel in quarantine treated with prazipro, he will go into hyposaline for 3 weeks after prazipro
so far he is eating everything and looks great but I don't think I want to do the copper treatment if im gonna do hyposaline
any thoughts would be great

btw tank mates are two fairy wrasses, scooter blenny and algae blenny, lyretail anthias 1 male and 4 females and powder blue in acclimation container.

I would only do one or the other at a given time, not together. Some fish do not tolerate copper well so that's in your favor so far. Copper is a more proven cure but I would only use it if I saw a good quantity of ick on the fish and also early on since copper can prove fatal if the fish is already weakened by the parasite.
With hyposalinity, the con is the proper time factor. It really should be kept at 1.009 for a minimum of 8 weeks.

I've found copper to be much more effective than hypo for quarantine purposes. It can also be really tough on sensitive fish, your regal included. If you can get your hands on chloroquine phosphate that's my preferred treatment, it's not nearly as harsh as copper but still fairly effective at knocking back parasitic infection.

Reading up on chloroquine phosphate and it seems to be worth checking in to if a person can get the "real" stuff. Has/needs to be 99%
Drawbacks I have read is the fish stopped eating and therefore wound up dying. Like with anything in this field there were mixed results. Dosing too much. Not dosing enough. When to do water changes. Leave it in for how long. Etc. Etc
Looks promising but I wonder if there's anything else people used as a precautionary measure

hypo is less damaging to both the fish and any pests you'r trying to eradicate. As mentioned, some fish can't tolerate copper at all, and long term organ damage is thought to be a factor for the fish that can survive the treatment.
