Snail Spawn??

I came home from this morning and noticed my tank was cloudy. I saw some white stuff coming from a turbo snail. The corals and fish look fine right now. Can this kill them? Any advice is appreciated.

carbon and skimming. other than lack of O2 I don't think it's a problem. You might want to do a water change as well.

How did the skimmer react? Did it go nuts? Otherwise i think you just get a freebie feeding day, take the day off!

Rich, I've had this happen before, too. It didn't seem to do much to the tank. The skimmer went crazy for a bit, but I ran some new carbon and it cleared up pretty quickly.

The skimmer isn't going crazy. I changed the carbon and micron bag and the water seems to be clearing up a bit. Scott did you notice increased PE on your corals?

Rich, I don't actually remember, it was a few years ago that it happened. It didn't do anything to the tank that I could tell.

Rich that happens pretty often in my tank.
It takes about half a day to clear up, depending on the spooge factor.
It never hurt anything in the tank, like Scott I can't say if it helped anything.

LOL, It happens every time Jhale has a party. The friggin snails decide to have sex!!! Must be the mood lights he adds to his tank

I remember a similar episode in my tank some years ago and I nothing really seemed amiss. Cleared up in a few days and the snails all looked very happy.:tongueani
