I went to AV today and the place is back to it's old self for the most part. Tanks were pretty full, not many dead/dying fish and staff was there and helpful. I walked out with a polleni grouper, racoon fish, black ice/ platinum clown pair and some frozen food.

No Rocco or Jesse :grumpy:

Good to hear and I was tempted by the Pollini grouper when it first came in.... GL with it.....and to be honest I really didn't have a problem with you posting what you observed, although I'm not the type to post negativity and tend to let people go to make their own determinations. Your observations of poor water quality, sick fish and or poor customer service can be beneficial not only to the reefing community, but to ownership to make the nessasary corrections if they want to be successful. I did, however felt that your choice of wording could have been better when you stated its a "crap hole" and my reason for asking for closure was assuming because of your zero status that you were probably had a bad experience or a competitor. Again I stand corrected ...I'm not affiliated with AV or any other LFS just a long term hobbiest.............

LOL,
This thread is amusing, Lets substitute the noun of "Aquarium Village" with the noun of lets say "Whole Foods" and reread this thread. "That's it, a bad batch of Wild Alaskan Salmon, been on the loading dock too long, all rotten... and the shelves were empty. Never going back again"

I was there yesterday and it didn't look very well. Dead fish in tanks. Algae ridden. Not much of a selection. Fish in corners breathing heavy. It just didn't look good. Everyone that walked in there walked right back out in 10 mins tops, empty handed. It's sad cause I like them even though the prices are high.
Not bashing just my observation.
