All previous years I used fans to keep my tank between 81.2 and 82 in summer months, however the water evaporation was quite significant. So far, as my AC is not on yet, and my tank temperature goes as high as 83. I didn't install my fan yet.
How high do you guys keep temperature in summer months? I've heard about 84 without ill effects. I have LPS's only and birdsnest.

On my 65g mix reef (mostly LPS) I have the 4-fan Azoo units over Display and another over the Sump. One turns on at 78.5 and the other turns on at 79, they both turn off at 78.
On the hottest of days the tank temp goes to 81, but not any higher.
Also on the hot days, I leave the AC on which is in another room and it cools down the room which helps.

I keep my tank at 77.5 all year round,,,, don't cheap out run the chiller when you have to,, when its hot in the house the first thing we do is turn the AC on cause we are uncomfortable I assume that's how the tank mates feel also

My tank hits 85 regularly since I stopped running the AC during the day to save some money AND I haven't been able to keep most SPS anymore. Going back to zoos and ricordias. At 85 the last SPS hold outs that I have are a couple of species of digitata and a capricornis, which are not doing well. The pocillopora, sentosa and spongodes are OK. Just have to find species that can handle the heat and if they can survive the hot shallow waters of Florida, Hawaii or the South Pacific, they can survive me. I just came back from Florida and the water there is hot! I'll try some birdsnest next time I see one.

I've changed my photo period to reflect the cooler times in the day. I've had to leave the AC on as of late bc my apartment is just way too warm and humid on top of restaurants below

a lot of corals are usually found in tide pools were the temp can swing as much as 5 to 10 degrees and they dont seem to have any ill effects that being said i run a chiller in my tank and keep the temp around 80 degrees

Its SO hot, a fish died In my poorly ventilated isolation tank, off the scale and at least 86F. Just not enough oxygen. Damn the electric bill, and full power to the AC 24/7 till the heat wave is over. Must be 90 in my apartment this past couple of days.

Stay cool brotha, this heat aint fun at all. I have a portable AC in my living room that allows me to set a timer on it. turns on 3 hours after i leave and turns off 4 hours after that. Gives my tank and my pup some mid day relief
