I have a dedicated small colander type of contraption that I rinse mine in. You have to look real hard to find this thing. It has replaceable screens so I have one that is real fine, so as not to allow the carbon itself to wash through it. I just use tap water.

I change my ESV carbon every two weeks and my phosban every month. That has worked well for me.

As to the link I can't search RC right now (Or at all today) but the jist of the article was that above a certain salinity the *lith products were no more effective than running high amounts of carbon. There was obviously a WHOLE lot more to it than that and the tests were done as it applied to...oh man I forgot I read it at 2:30 am one night. :(

Damn John, I cant believe you change your carbon in so long! I usually change mine every two weeks, feel like Im wasting so much now! Well I just purchased a 5 gallon bucket of ESV GAC from Coral Factory for only 70 bucks! Now time to find a reactor . . .

that's a good price for esv.
look at the large deltec reactors, like the one herman got. you'll want it when you upgrade to that large tank of yours :)

I bought a bucket of the carbon on ebay. I'll test it againt the ESV carbon for Po4, I can use the hanna meter when that gets to me.
