Here is some info to consider about R/O DI Brine/Waste Water and more.
Reclaim up to 80% of your R/O Brine/Waste Water and improve production water!
The Permeate Pump is a non-electrical, hydraulically driven pump.
It uses a reciprocating positive displacement, single action diaphragm to create dramatic efficiency improvements for R/O DI water purification systems.
A non-electrical, energy-saving device which dramatically improves RO system efficiency.
For many years, the effectiveness of R/O DI water filter treatment and purification has been recognized.
R/O DI water filter systems require an average of 4 gallons or more of tap water to produce one gallon of R/O DI purified water.
As water becomes an increasingly precious resource, waste water becomes increasingly unacceptable.
Permeate Pump enhanced R/O DI water filter systems, by reducing waste water by up to 80%, and helps conserve a natural resource, WATER!
A Permeate Pump is a non-electrical device which uses only the hydraulic energy of the brine water (lost to the drain) to push additional purified water (A.K.A ?permeate?) into your holding container.
Use of a Permeate Pump improves membrane life and R/O DI water filter performance.
Key Features:
? No electricity required, powered only by hydraulic energy normally lost to drain
? Improves water quality by insuring membrane efficiency
? Improves membrane life, prevents ?TDS creep?
? Decreases product tank ?fill time? by up to 65%
? Reduces drain wastewater by up to 80%
? Increases product tank pressure (up to 95% of feed pressure)
? For all membranes rated 10 - 120 GDP
? Effective for inlet water pressures as low as 30 PSI
? Compact size for easy installation
? 1/4" quick connect fittings
I use my own Saltwater Correct 300 GPD, 12 stage R/O DI water filter that had a ratio of 4 gallons of Brine/Waste Water to every 1 gallon of Permeate/Good Water.
After installing a Permeate Pump, my ratio is now 1 gallon of Brine/Waste Water to every 1 gallon of Permeate/Good Water.
My water bill is reduced drastically and that means I save a lot of money and doing my part in saving our water.
Here is an R/O DI test to perform to see what your current Brine/Waste Water & Permeate/Product Water ratio is:
Take 2 -1 gallon containers i.e. milk or tea containers and add your R/O DI Brine/Waste Water line in one container and your Permeate/Product Water line in the other container.
Turn on you R/O DI and wait until your Brine/Waste Water container is full and then turn off your R/O DI.
How to determine your ratio:
We know that your Brine/Waste Water container is full and hypothetically say your Permeate/Product Water container is ? full. Your ratio would be 4:1,
Brine/Waste Water / 4 gallons to every 1 gallon of Permeate/Product Water.
