I have had a green goniopora for close to two years and have not had any problems. I neglect my tank worse than anyone on this board and it thrives. I used to shut off the pumps and feed it frozen krill (~1inch) long. I haven't been feeding my tank much for the past six months but plan to start feeding again soon. I think that this is an overlooked aspect of goni husbandry. Each mouth will eat a krill but the tentacles can't grab them out of moving water so you need to stop all current for 10 min or so.

Hi Alf3482, what do you feed them? From what I have heard they like phytoplankton.
I feed Dt's 3 times per week.

SPC I give my ginoporas no more than what i do for every one else in the tank. I do dose Dt's 3 times per week i put 40mls in a 125 gal tank that these are in. Good current flow on the Ginoporas, they need to stay clean, i give my Ginoporas more current than i do my sps corals. If they get something on them I blow them off with a turkey baster. they do not like tanks with a lot of hair algea growth, as it will cause the tissue to die off if HA attaches to them.
I read some research papers that say that iodine is a good medication for them, can't rememeber where the artical was, I think I got a link from Mary's site a few years back. So each time I have purchased one i give them a Iodine medicated bath 20 min a day for two weeks then I left them alone. they have all showed great signs when Dt's is added to the tank. polyp extention is increased by at least 10% the following few days.

Sorry it's been so long I don't come to this board very often I forgot that it does not e-mail you a response i'll try to keep up with this a little better.
