In this thread state where in the house your tank is and why it is there. This will be a good thread cause everyone can relate to it.

Now as for me:

Mine is in the process of being setup (120g), but when its finished it will be right in front of my bed. Ahh has to be the most relaxing thing, just watching the reef before you go to sleep....

Mine is located in a 10' x 11' bedroom that I am useing as my "den". I have my computer desk and computer in here and the tank. Thats all. Would like to have it in the living room but no room. Definitly in the new house. Althouogh....I do spend a lot of time on the computer and since I use a 56K modem, I have lots of time to just look around. Why not watch the tank!

I've got my 180 separating my living room and my kitchen. It's got an end overflow, so you see right through. No canopy. It's great!

In my living room I've got a 25g isolation FOWLR.

In my bedroom I've got a 37 seahorse tank and 10 g nursery tank.

It's a sickness

120G serving as a divider just off centre in the living room.
Can be viewed from three sides.
The end is flushed into the Store Room where all the technical stuff are hidden from view.

Can't see how I will be able to locate a reef tank in from of my bed. I'd be starring at it the whole night and counting fish may not be of much help.

I am in the process of planning my in wall tank that will be in the breakfast Nook. All the equipment will be in the new Garage Aquarium room. Ill be taking over the 3rd car garage for that room. I will be able to see it from the Kitchen, Living room and While eating breakfast.
It will be roughly 470 gallons and closer to 800 gallons total volume when done next year.
Dimentions will be roughly 84x36x36.
Can't wait to get started.

My wife wants my 75 out of the living room because of my perpetual mess and the noise. she said I could build it in. That was music to my ears. Little did she know at the time what size can of worms she opened for me.

One in living room, behind me even as I type. A 150g prop system in basement along with a 10 gal mangrove tank.

But...coming soon: SUNROOM! Our four season sunroom should be completed next week. I made my wife agree to let me put a tank out there as a condition to getting the room in the first place. I think I'll put the tank where I can see it from the hot tub. Hehehe!

Mine is in the basement, its the only place my wife would allow it. At least I dont have to worry about spills or overflowing(which it has).

My 44 pentagon is in the corner of my kitchen. I can flood all i want and it won't bother the linoleum (sp??? geeze) although the salt tends to take the finish off. The tank also receives direct sun for an hour or so in the evening.

I have my 90 gal. reef in my living room against a wall opposite a large bay window. At night when the lights are on the whole neighborhood can see it. I don't worry about anyone breaking in to take anything because of my best friend and burglar alarm is a 100lb + Akita.

Another living room vote here. I can look straight forward at the High Def. Tv and turn my head to the right and see my Reef Tank. Hope my corals and fish appreciate the money I spent on the TV.

Although no where near as much as I have spent on the tank in the past few months setting it up.

My 225g in my Study/Office in the front of the house.
Directly across from it is a Futon so I can sit and watch in comfort. When I had the 75g in the dinning room as a reef I would always be sitting on a dinning room chair.

Also when I open my blind you can see my tank clear as day from the street. I have had numerous people stop and want to see it.

I keep it outdoor. The wind does a good job on evaporation and I'm never concern about flooding. I never fire my MH at night though, it has a UFO like effect on my neighbours, they just stand there and stare at the lights...
