Too much Iodine

I have the salifert iodine test kit, so far I have been unable to obtain a pink colour following the addition of 12-2. Could this be a result of very high iodine lvels in the water? (instructions say 1-2 drops required I stopped at 7 or 8, it was still yellow.)
GT I cannot relocate the photos of your tank to show a friend, where did I see them?

The tank pictures are located on the moorish idol threadand GT'S tank probally 3or 4 pages in if you search you'll find. also check out jans and feb edition TODAYS FISHKEEPER for my new tankor dec 02 PFK my last 7ft reef.
also the pink colour you are mentioning is very very pale after 12/2 my water only requires 1 drop, look down through the top onto clear paper as i said it is very slight allow to stand 30 secs and 1 drop of 12/3 clears it then 2 further drops and carry on with the rest of the test. any problems mark give me a ring , check PM.....GT
