You've heard wrong. It takes care of algae and bacterial blooms. Next person that tells me a uv sterilizer is BAD for a reef tank I am going to ***** slap them. For my tank my uv has done tremendously well. Oh yeah next time you post 'peej' learn how to type and use grammar. Its not hard.PeeJ":2ve4x16t said:what does a uv sterilizer to for having too many fish?i mean i could see running it for a little bit, but once the organisms are dead, they are dead. i think thats just going to hurt more than help, or so ive heard.

Sorry about the ***** slap crack. Its just that alot of people tell me that a uv sterilzer is bad in a reef tank. I've had mine in for a year and a half and my tank is doing alot better than when it was without one. BTW I do have a background, I just took it off because the damn flash of the camera kept reflecting off it. The tang is tiny, he has a while to grow.LFS42":28f8uezf said:I'm suprised no one mentioned the Hippo tang should be in a larger tank
or that a background would really enhance the look of the tank.
(I didn't even mention the uv sterilizer)
