Hello!
Here are some pre shipment pics for a cube tank I have ordered for a customer. It is to be a FO. Not sure what I am gonna put in it. The setup is for an office and I was kind of thinking about a some larger semi-agressive fish. Dog face puffer, lions, etc. I am realyy not sure what at this point, and as you know I will have some time to decide (cycling).

specs:
48" x 48" x 33" dimensions

Aqua C EV240 skimmer w/ mag 12 pump
Aqua Ultraviolet 57W sterilizer w/ wiper
Wet Dry supplied by manufacturer about 36" in total legnth

1.5" Drain bulkhead
1" Fill bulkhead

What do ya think????

Sweet tank!
If you are not going reef, I think, it would make a pretty sweet seahorse tank! Thats just me though.
Is it going to be seen from three sides?
Very cool

I was just thinking about designing a 3x3x2' cube earlier today. I like the looks of the 4 footer you have there - will look amazing on a stand.

If I were doing a FO in that size tank I'd do 3 or 4 niger triggers , a smaller ornamental grouper (maybe a vtail or a miniatus) , a desjardini sailfin and maybe a couple of lions. If they aren't set on big fish a large school of lyretail anthias would look amazing in a tank like that IMO.

Hey thanks for the input. No I didn't build it myself I had a company in California build it for me. The stand is actual cherry wood, not pine. I wish that I had the skill to build such a thing, it is beautiful....

the niger trigger idea is pretty cool, i didn't think of that..I could also do a school of 8-10 yellow tangs for a nice splash of color. I have also been tossing around the idea of a porcupine puffer. EVERBODY loves those!!! 8O

The big problem is finding someone competent and capable enough to feed. I dont think it will be too much of a problem but there is always the risk of one foul up and "ooops I dropped a 4" cube of brine shrimp in the tank and now the fish look funny or sick"...always fun

It is for a fairly good company w/ a bunch of very intellegent people working there so it should be fine...

One thing you might want to consider if you are going to make this a more agressive setup, or a heavily stocked system period, is you may need to upgrade that skimmer, I am running that same setup AC-EV240 with a Mag 18 on my 180 Reef(total about 210-220 gal) and I like it, but I think it would be underpowered on a tank of that size and bio-load, other then that, the tank looks awesome.

Which company made it - always nice to promote good quality. Can you give us an estimate of what this would cost - direct of course.

Thanks!

what about a shark and ray tank???

Way too small for a shark tank. Wrong shape, as well. Sharks need lots of open room to get moving. In a tank like this all they'd be able to do is go in a tight circle. Plus, nearly any shark you could find would have to go in as a hatchling and would only be able to be in there 10 months or so, most likely.
