has anyone ordered from this website. i'm sure a lot of you have tried it in the past. they seem to have some very well priced animals i am looking for. i was wondering how people's expierence went with this marine animal provider. thanks

packing and livestock seem good but don't be fooled by the guarantee. Like all on line guarantees you have to pay shipping. So if you receive a $10 item dead you have to pay $30 to ship a replacement. Just not worth it.

I no longer order from them but that is just me.

I won't order any live stock from anywhere. I am fortunate to have several shops I can pick my own livestock from.

They are in Ft. Pierce I believe, and got hit by two hurricanes recently, I'd keep that in mind before ordering.

I've only ordered from saltwaterfish.com once and it wasn't good at all.

I ordered a carpet anemone, two tank-raised Gold Stripe Maroon clowns and 3 queen conchs.

The carpet anemone was shipped without water in a sealed plastic bag (they told me that's the best way to ship anemones),,, let's just say it was stressed,,, and I couldn't get it to recover,, died after about a week.

The tank raised Gold Stripe Maroons were the poorest-looking inbred abominations I've ever come across,,, poor color,, two stripes and the worst underbite,, which never went away.

After trying (and failing) to pair each of these in turn with my adult female GSM Clown, I gave them away to a friend,,, a year or so later and the problem was revealed,, they were white strip maroons all along (they're now merrily producing even uglier offspring in my friends tank).

Oh,, and one of the conchs was DOA.

if you are looking for saltwater fish I now people have had better luck with www.themarinecenter.com I personally havent used either of them.

i ordered from them and was very happy. I got an orange shoulder tang a queen conch some mushrooms and two feather duster clusters. Everything was in awesome shape. The orange shoulder tang did good for about six months and then i neglected my tank and lost all my fish (wont do that again) The queen conch was flippin huge in good shape and still alive to this day. The feather duster clusters were good size and good colors. The mushrooms are still alive and in good shape. I had very good luck with them and when i set up my 120 in a few weeks i will stock it from them.

ordered from saltwaterfish.com several times and they have always pleased me, i think the guys who bash them have alterior motives because with the free shipping and all you can get some great deals... as long as you spend 75 bucks... great luck with them here though...

Check again shr00m. Obviously you haven't ordered from them in quite some time. $79.00 + $9.99(surcharge) = $88.99 to get the so called free shipping.

What does "alterior" motives mean? If you meant ulterior motives, then you are way off base. I'm certainly not a vendor. Just a hobbyiest trying to find the best selection and good customer service, saltwaterfish.com really stinks as far as customer service is concerned and IF I could find all the things I want in stock at one time instead of a few items available and most on the "wish list" then it would be a first. Which there isn't going to ever be a "first" because I'll never order from them again. Go ahead, take your chances with 'em. Heaven forbid you try to send back a doa. Guess what, you'll more than likely get attitude and then you have to pay for shipping.

Also you can have them ship your replacement with your next order.That makes more sense than paying to ship just one $10 item as in your example. You don't really expect any online retailer to eat the cost of shipping on the guarantees do you?They would have to drastically raise prices to do that.


On a more personal note I perfer to see any fish before buying but I do buy clean-up crew type of things on line.I have been real tempted to buy some corals and fish I have seen but I havn't as of yet.

thank you everyone for all the feedback. i do think i'm going to try to order something from them, to just see how it goes. i was wanting to have another cleaner shrimp any how.
