technoshaman...

i am very interested in what you put together... i am a fan of your other tanks 8)

i am particularly interested in the sunburst anthias you have considered.
i have attempted to keep one on two occasions in the past and consider them failed attempts. i then decided that i should leave them be until i upped to a bigger tank. i recall an AAOLM author wrote an article that suggested keeping them in trios.. i had a 46 bow then and couldn't see putting three in there.
is a twenty enough tank to keep one of these guys? i remember you mentioning having these anthias before in a 29(?)... i am just jealous that you can keep them alive

on another note, i can't see your pics anymore. i get a maast 'log in' prompt every time i open a thread with one of your tanks posted to it.

Pod - I seem to have good luck keeping some 'difficult' species alive. The thing I've found with sunburst / fathead anthias is that the majority that show up for sale are beat to hell, have swimbladder damage or are starved and won't eat. If you can get one that won't hide in the rocks constantly you've beat the first hurdle - my current one is outgoing and eats mysis , brine and cyclopeeze (yes it's tiny but they seem to love it) and 2 feedings minimum per day is the rule in my experience or they go downhill fairly fast. My current tank has supported a spotted mandarin, rainfords goby and leopard wrasse with little feeding for almost 2 years now mostly due to tons of microcrustaceans - the anthias nescessitates directed feeding and a few of the other fish are super competitive (lyretail hawk and pygmy angel) and I have to wait till they get their fill before the anthias can eat at his leisure.

Not sure if I want to do an acutal low light tank, I have cool halide fixture I got in trade I am itching to use but maybe I can work a cave into some of my new setup and still include the fathead. I am currently thinking of doing a sort of saltwater paludarium with 2/3 water and top half rock/sand beach possibly with some mangroves in the open half - getting a bit out of hand in the planning but shoudl be fun to watch develop.

I'll find those pics and relink them to that nano thread.

But only Build-off participants can post in the build off forum. Could we unsticky the "build off participants sign in" and sticky this one.
