I found a new way to light a tank:

Well, the watermelon chalice is probably dead :( It looks thorougly bleached now. Either the spawn did it, the new lights did it, or the ca reactor's failure did it .... probably combinations of the above three. It's the only coral effected; of course, it had to be the most expensive one.

Sorry to hear that Len. I lost all the frags from the coral I showed you as well.

Actually, there's another possibility: taking the photo killed my watermleon. Damn you all!

Welp, if you would've fragged it for me when I asked you to, I'd now have a frag to send to you. :P

In all seriousness, I feel for ya. Trust me, I've been there. It sucks hard to have a rare coral go south. I'll be sure and send you a frag when I finally get mine to grow out.

Peace,

Chip

You should take pictures more often so as to acclimate your corals to the flash.

So it was the lack of photography that killed the chalice. :P

BT, the watermelon was clearly visible and labelled in the photo ;) The tissue isn't completely gone, but it's pretty much fully bleached. There's about 1% chance it'll recover. I think my photo robbed its soul.

I'll get ya a frag, Len. It'll be small, but free.

Peace,

Chip

Why would you say that? Is the coral spawn a continual issue? Or is something else in the tank causing the milkiness?

Hopefully, it'll pull through. Meanwhile, let's see everything else! Clearly! Maybe you need to be reminded of your picture-taking skills:
