All,

I'd be lying if I said this was fine with me - it is not - but in the name of progress . . . . . . . .

However, I am rational, mature and have always had the advancement of the site and it's success at the forefront of everything I did here. I started the site as member #4 a long time ago and never envisioned it would come to this - voluntarily stepping down from being a moderator has me torn in ways I haven't felt in a long time - like I've lost a good friend. Once again, I am at a place where I have to let the cause be the driver and let this happen gracefully and in unwaivering support of the MR community -

That being said, I have spent alot of time and invested alot of emotional energy developing what we have today and am proud that I had the opportunity to build the community we know and love. I appreciate the confidence the MR administration had in me - I really enjoyed working on development and the future of MR and hope I can continue to provide content as a vendor and member where appropriate that enriches this community.

You have to know that I have enjoyed the friendships I have developed and plan to keep them close to me -

It has been a privldge (and I have always viewed it as such) and an honor to have worked with all of you on MR. I really enjoyed it even with the drama.

In friendship,

Jim :thrash:

Jim you shouldn't have to volunteer to step down or be forced to step down. You have and still do a great job for this community both as a mod and a vendor. I hope your resignation is turned down by the admins and you stay as a mod.

Jim not right now.
I always view your vendor status as part of your work on educating masses and helping common reefer with the startup and success. as a moderator you did an outstanding job developing this board.
ONCE AGAIN. WE NEED YOU AS A GUY WHO WOULD ORGANISE SWAPS, DEAL WITH HOBBY BIGS IN FAVOR OF MR PPL AND BE A PERSON WHO TAKE THIS COMMUNITY NOT ONLY LIKE A VENDOR BUT AS THE FELLOW REEFER WHO I CAN TRUST.

I hope not being a moderator does not mean you will not be on MR, but whatever you decide, i hope you will still be a big part of MR and I support your decision.
frankly the big question is:
"should a vender also be a moderator?"
maybe we can post this question in the poll and let the MR community decide. Let MR community decide for you.

MOD or NOT is just a label.

Members still respect your opinions. Without the title or authority to mend the threads, it actually should help MR to grow more stable since there are no reasons for the ANY member to doubt your good advises.

Sorry to see you stepping down Jim. :sad2:

I concur with Wingo. No reason not to be any less of a member as you already are without the mod status. Its only a label. Most people see Jim on the site for who he is not the fact that he's a mod. I'm sure mod status or not his advice would still be taken the same way. Hope you'll still be doing the same old stuff you always do with swaps and organizing stuff Jim :wink1:.

Jim,

We are very sorry to hear you are stepping down. It would be nice if you did not. Monerators have an extreamly hard job and we appriecate all the effort you have put in.

We do not concider it "a right" to be on this site- it is a privledge. We are thankful for all you have done and will do.

i've been watching all of this drama unfold from the sidelines, but I just have to chime in and say that you stepping down as a mod is not the answer to whatever is going on here. You've been an integral part of the community from day 1. If anything, just don't moderate the vendor forums.

however, if it comes to pass, your words still carry a lot of weight around here and you have my support.

Jim it really come's down to it being your decision. Whether it's being a mod or just a member your advise and opinon still carries the same weight.
You can look at the positive side of it all. You won't have the accusation's made no more about whether you edited or deleted anything. you won't have the b.s to deal with. and you will still be able to do all of the same stuff as before. i do give it up to the mod's though. i wouldn't want the position. to much crap to deal with and always made to feel like your taking side's or doing something wrong.

...decided i won't let this one go... having thought about it all day, having known for several days it was bound to come...

yes, Josh gets to decide. Josh can choose not to accept your resignation, and quite honestly, i hope , Josh, that you do not accept Jim's resignation, not because he helped to shape this community, and not because he is in the right so very often, not because he is not only helpful but a force for action and change, but because his values are exactly the values of a moderator, because his voice is one of patience and reason, and because he is quite simply an asset to this site as a mod and not just as a member.

But then, I'm sure you already know that.

I wasn't aware of your enormous involvement in MR but I don't see why it would need to stop. Your love of this site and dedication to grow the place you love and shape this community had nothing to do with you being a moderator, it was from you as a person and as a caring member.

The community has grown to value your input and I don't think your not being a mod will change that. If you cease to be an asset because you can no longer delete or edit posts, that's on you. There are some members here, such as Randy that are not mods yet still contribute immensely to this site. I don't think being able to moderate was a prerequisite for the good you've done.
