Wow! 8O That is a gorgeous setup! I built my 2-story reef system about 8 years ago with the same kind of forethought (research and design), but it didn't come out as pretty as yours! (I'm a computer guy) :)

Your plumbing and cabinetry are fantastic! Nice job!

Actually, that was the Georgia Aquarium, my bad....
Here are the real pics. The tank turns 1 year old today! All corals in the tank were seeded as frags, it's been a neat experience wathing these SPS frags attach and grow. I've been real fortunate with the fish as well, no personality conflicts so far.

Bernie Marcus (GA Aquarium financier) paid $80+ million for his. I'd like to have the $80 million :) To be fair, he did get a bunch of other fish in the deal.

beautiful shots and awesome tank! I particularly like the closeup of your yellow tang.

How did you get this shot below? Particularly with chromis, if I use my flash it washes out their color, but without a flash, of course all the fish are blurs. I'm a n00b with photography

Thanks!
I don't remember my exact settings on these. I KNOW the white balance was adjusted, ISO was 400, and I did use a flash. I THINK I used 1/60 for the full tank shot and 1/250 for the yellow tang. The dirty little secret about the tang photo is that the fish literally got in the way. I've been trying to duplicate it, but haven't found any luck. Take LOTS of pics with different settings and the odds will eventually help. And take notes so luck becomes less a factor - but for now, GOOD LUCK.

Looks beautiful! Nice job. I don't have a basement, so I put a shed in the backyard and ran a 5" pipe between the house and shed for the plumbing. The basement thing looks like it would work better. Maybe on my next house. Keep us updated with the pics.
