ok - so it turns out I do not own a PH test.....well, I do but its 4 year old (at least thats the last recorded reading of "8.something" that I had noted down in July of 2002) I'll swing into petco on the way home and see if they have a PH kit.
OK I bought a PH test kit last night. while my MH's were still on yesterday I tested at 8.2 -- this morning prior to my PC's flippinig on I tested at 8.0
Your PH is pretty flat. If your low was 8.2 it wouldn't be that bad, but 8.0 should be addressed. I would certainly go with 24/7 lighting on the fuge while you SLOWLY adjust your PH upward.
