The 24G in my sig is probably the only tank I'll ever have.

It's nice though. I enjoy it and it's not a lot of trouble.

I need to post up some recent pictures of it. Remind me to do that sometime.

Like the scape there Len. I would want to do something similar, smaller if I were to get another tank.

Thanks Mark.

Swapped the Panworld for a Eheim 1262. It's made a world of difference in terms of sound, and it provides just the right amount of flow. I'm happy :P

What about now? You need to bump Vitz and Matt's handbags at dawn off the most recent page. :P

I cleaned the dust (of the calcium layer from the sand), added carbon, and removed the dirty filter sock. Tank is sparkling clean today. I'll take pics tonight. Fish are probably going in tomorrow; their holding pen's water quality is not great (a dozen+ fish in about 40 gallons of water). The rocks are fully cured, and die-off (and stink) free, so I'm pretty confident about the transition.

For kicks, I tried running the tank with more Vortechs and it just caused a giant storm. Two is more than plenty :)

The tank rebuild phase is complete. All my fish and corals have been moved over as of tonight. I did a big FWE treatment on the holding tank, and did a Lugol's dip on the corals. Obviously some holding tank water was dripped into the tank when netting over the fish, but hopefully that water is sterilized of the nasties :P The holding tank's condition was deteriorating fast, so I decided to move my fish over ASAP.

I did lose my two yasha gobies and my helfrichi firefish during this time. Everyone else is a little beat up but recovering well.

I'll take pics this weekend.

Sweet, did ya make a big mess when you moved corals over? Hell I can't avoid making a mess when I reach in for a single coral, and remember how messy (and wet I was) when I moved everything over to the 180.

I only had half a dozen corals to move  so the move itself was very smooth and neat. In fact, the whole process of adding water, salt, sand, rock, and fish/corals was easy ... it was the tear down and cleaning that was a major pain.

Yesterday night/this morning was hairy. My tang and angel looked like they were going to die; the angel in particular was covered in white spots and a mucus-like sheath, and it was swimming around the tank feverishly. Something happened after lights out and I thought I was going to lose most of my fish. But after a few hours with the lights on, they've all bounced back and are looking normal again. I hope tonight isn't a repeat performance.

Do you mean that they died, or that you can't find them?

They died in the holding tank. There were two shrimps in there I'm sure made quick work of the bodies, so I didn't find any remains. I knew the Yashas were banged up (they were the hardest to catch), but I thought the Helfrichi was going to do fine. I don't know what happened to it.

Awesome aquascape. Much better than the previous build.

I suspect this is where the pics stop coming and people start hounding you for pics.

Just to let you know, I'm planning to update my build thread, but I've hit a bunch of problems. Most of my old fish I transported over didn't make it (due to bacterial fin rot and/or flatworm exit). I was making up water for a water change, but I had to discard the water due to things precipitating like crazy out of solution (A LOT of hard white crystals). I'm doing a new batch of salt tonight. Algae is growing (my sand is nice and brown), but that was expected.

IOW, I've got nothing interesting to photograph :P
