Sps receding

I had a alk swing and a temp swing last week. This sps is receding from the base up. It happened once before when i had another alk swing. Last time it only receded about a half inch then it grew back and was fine. This time it isn’t stopping and its almost 2” now. Not sure if i should leave alone or cut it up to try to save what hasnt receded yet. My alk has been stable at 8.2 for over a week I really like this piece , any advise is appreciated

Had the same exact thing 2 weeks ago. Shold have fragged up the so.ilar sized green slimers. Kaput!

Sometimes they do stop receding... but it’s not a big deal to frag and glue that bottom just in case

frag or glue over the dead and glue were the dead meets the live tissue. Its usually a delayed stn when there is a alk swing stuff may stn weeks after.

how high or low was alk swing?
I would keep Alk little higher so if you have swings it not below 8.0
I would go to 9.0
what test kit you using because some are off from others by 10-25%
how high or low was temp swing?
