He tried to get me as well, from 2 different numbers and 2 different names. Sent the same to pictures to my WTB. Be careful.

This person or persons are going through different forum's WTB postings and fishing for marks. Usually will say something like contact xyz through this email or text number, he has the item in good condition. If contacted and asked for pics, that scammer will pull photos off the web from past seller's posting and super impose a fake ID and date to seem legit.
So be wary if approached because you posted a WTB thread.

The WTB forum is riddled with scammers. Here are two that I got. Ignored them both as they were brand new members with 0 posts. One claimed to be in Manhattan but wouldn’t allow pickup.

REPORT THEM TO A MODERATOR. We are dead serious about doing everything we can to keep scammers from ruining your experience in the marketplace.

they only scam people in WTB page and only contact via message, be careful and save your money, I lost 100 bucks and realized a moment after I sent money, I knew that I got taken for 100 bucks a ride but I gave him my piece of mind via text messages that he had to block my number,

Anyone from out of the area who responds to your wtb post be suspicious of. Make sure you only pay them with PayPal and not friends and family. Also google the number they use to contact you. If it’s a google phone number it’s definitely a scam. If the deal is too good to be true it is. Also if u copy the picture and drop it into the google search bar that searches the internet to see if that picture has been on the web before. Only deal with members from this site who have a history and positive seller ratings.
