Hey, guys. This is very serious situation for us. Marine depot is now becoming a major problem for fish-lovers.

We ordered a bunch of fish on tuesday, and was told the order was already sent out. So I took off from work to receive the fish alive. But, next morning, we found out that they emailed us at 2 AM that the order was NOT shipped out. So, the order was rescheduled to be sent on Friday. (with discount)

On saturday morning, we found out that no confirmation email was sent to us. Plus, FedEx called us up, saying that they got the wrong Zip code. In this case, the package may not be delivered on the same day, meaning it would be delivered on MONDAY! (which was totally unacceptable)

We had to pursuade FedEx to deliver it today because the package contained livestock. It turned out that Marine Depot did NOT put "LIVESTOCK" on the package.

Now, Naso Tang came in dead. Fish that was supposed to be medium size was actually small. We got 2 mexican wrasses, while we ordered only one. Plus, a half of the order is missing. One of my tang is dying.

Because of that, we had to transfer our fish between the tanks and restructure the rocks. (You know how hard it is!)

This is not all. They charged me on Tuesday for the order that was never sent out. (Probably, they are going to charge me another $330 for today's shipping.)

So, basically, Marine Depot sucks now, and you, guys, should be very very careful with what you order. Plus, make sure to get a confirmation email and tracking number for your order.

That sucks, however I'm just not a firm believer in having fish shipped.

Sorry to hear about the losses, I would contest the charges with your CC company.

I don't think one bad order means they're going downhill. Give them a call with a LEVEL HEAD and ask them to fix it. See what they do. If they credit you back for what was incorrect, you need to post here saying so.

Also, it was a holiday week. I bet people were looking forward to the time off.

Also, I don't order anything that won't be shipped out on a monday. All it takes is one mistake and, as you found out the hard way, things can get messed up good.

So give them a call and see what they do to rectify the situation.

This is not the first time

Actually, all this thing happened in this one week.
Reason why we ordered this time is that we had store-credit for our last order, which a half came in dead.

Plus, we originally ordered for Wednesday, and they rescheduled it for Saturday, after I took a day off from work b/c they said the order was confirmed. Then, they messed up the Saturday shippment by putting the wrong Zip code. Now, the package came in late, fish are dead, and the package was incomplete. (They overbilld me!)

Yeah, we have been compensated for this type of screw-ups in the past, but this time is unacceptable.

Holiday weekend is not an excuse, if they decided to work that day. It's their job to ship fish as ordered.

Is that too much to ask?

So how did you get the package if FedEx didn't want to deliver it? And I don't understand how it happened that they used a wrong zip code. Isn't the packing slip generated automatically from information that you provided them with?

FedEx called me because Zip Code and the address that Marine Depot provided them did not match. FedEx did not know the content, so I had to tell them that Livestock (worth $330) were in the package and that they would die if they delivered it on Monday.

Marine Depot has the right information, but a bunch of morons are working there now. That's why they are not doing what they used to do (or what they are supposed to do).

Right now, the fish is sent out directly from the supplier, not from their own warehouse. I confirmed this with marine Depot a while ago. But this change should not affect on customers. Don't you think so?

First props to fedex for coming through and saving the fish.

No matter what, when it comes to shipping livestock mistakes can and will happen.
This is why you should never have a shipment sent on Friday, it makes it way harder to get a package if something goes wrong. I also would never order during a busy travel week like this was. The airlines and everyone else were predicting delays, this effects the freight carriers as well. It's not worth the risk.

Give Marine Depot a call tomorrow, if someone is there that can help you it's best to log a complaint right away.

Many of the online companies ship from the same suppliers, I ran into the same problem with liveaquaria a while ago. After a shipment when half the fish died I decided not to order fish online anymore.

Well, the shipment was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but they rescheduled it for Saturday because of their mistake.

Plus, FedEx wasn't willing to deliver it today because of their policy. But, we told FedEx operators to deliver it; otherwise, the fish would be dead. FedEx didn't even allow us to pick the package up by ourselves cuz it was in the wrong truck. By the time it got to the warehouse, it would be closed for pick-up.

Anyway, I just want to warn those who order with Marine Depot, because of the new system they decided to use.

FYI Never order on a holiday and check your reciept to insure the proper info has been entered in at checkout.

Call MD advise them of the problem I am sure they will work things out with you.

You had your say, and the personal attack was uncalled for. Sorry you don't agree with it being closed. It had fulfilled it's purpose and was becoming a bash thread with no good outcome or information being posted that is why I closed it.
