A Raffle? What’s that about?
Here are some Q & A’s to help you jump right in!
Why are we having a Raffle?
Sometimes a little change is good to shake things up and we’ve come up with the raffle to give you an additional way to ‘win’ the items you want .
How much will it cost ?
There will be raffle tickets available for purchase at the MR Selling Table.
The tickets will be available in $1 …$5...and $10 denominations.
Where do I purchase the Raffle tickets?
The MR Selling Table will be directly across from where the Raffle items will be displayed, just outside of the Speakers Room.
What prizes will be in the Raffle?
Here are a few of the items we’ll have in the Raffle this year…
Oddly enough - we will have CORALS in the Raffle.. SWEET Corals…these corals will be on display in tanks on the Raffle table. The top 15 corals of the day (aside from the top sweet corals in the Auction) will be available to win for as little as a $5 or $10 raffle ticket. We will also have an SPS Frag Pack, an LPS Frag Pack and a Frag Pack just for our Newbies!
Did you want something from Hydor? How a Koralia Nano Pump? Or a #1 Koralia Pump, oh you want a # 3, got that too! Might just have to bring out the whole family and see if you get the # 4 and # 2!
ESV… (through HoF..MR Vendor)Did someone say B-Ionic? Present and accounted for! Makes 4 GALLONS!!
You in the back, what did you want? A What? Vortech Driver? Might be a few of those too!
Tunze you say? I’m getting sleepy now…Turbelle what? I’m too tired to remember the model number….Tunze Turbelle what! …maybe I’ll remember in the morning…..along with what those other prizes are…. Specificall it would be a Tunze 7200/2 Electronic Power head

How do I choose the prize I want?
Go look at the table of Raffle prizes ..directly in front of that table will be another table loaded with white ‘Buckets’. The top of each bucket will have the name of the prize and a ‘slot’ to drop your lucky raffle ticket into.
Pick the prize or prizes that you want to win and drop at least one raffle ticket into that bucket.
Be SURE to KEEP the portion of the ticket that says “KEEP THIS TICKET”.
You can put as many tickets as you choose to purchase into a single bucket or you can spread your raffle tickets into a bunch of different buckets!
Do I have to be at the Frag Swap to win?
YES! Any prizes that are not claimed by the time we get to the last item will have a new winning ticket drawn. All winning tickets must be presented during the drawing. No previously drawn tickets will be honored as a prize winner after an item has been redrawn.
New Question! What if I can't stay until 4:00 when the Raffle drawing starts?
As much as we'd like everyone to stay the entire day, we do understand that some folks have others places they may need to be (against their will of course!) during the Holiday Season. Why not write your name on the back of your ticket stubs and let a reef buddy of yours, who can stay for the drawings, watch out for your numbers for you? Just tell him/her what prizes you'd picked and they can pay close attention when those items are drawn for!
How do I increase my chances of winning a prize I really, really want?
But more raffle tickets & load up that bucket!
What Time is the Raffle being held?
The Raffle will begin at 4:00 PM
Will I be able to hear the winning number so I know if I win?
That’s the plan! But just in case … we will have a BIG screen set up behind the Raffle Announcer and each winning ticket number will be posted on that really big screen next to the winning prize as each is announced. If you hold a winning ticket - step right up to the front of the room and present your ticket. No need to wait until the end of the drawing.
How do I get my winning prize?
If you hold the winning ticket for an item, you will present the ticket to a Raffle Volunteer at the front of the room. You will then be given the cover of the bucket..with the name of the prize you have won. Take the cover to the Raffle Volunteer at the Prize table, hand in your cover and you’ll be given your Prize!
Anything else I need to know?
This is where the small print comes in…
Probably not, but if we need to make up more rules as the event unfolds and questions come up, we reserve the right to make those decisions on the spot. This is the first time we’ve done this!
IF you happen to drop a BLUE ticket into a bucket that requires a RED ticket (you get the idea)...please contact a member of the Raffle Staff Immediately and we will retrieve your ticket for you IF you can show us the other half of the ticket. Once the Raffle begins we will NOT retrieve any misplaced tickets!
Any tickets that are of the incorrect color for the prize being drawn will NOT be honored and a ticket of the correct color will be chosen as the winning ticket.
