all tunicates and sea stars (specifically sun stars BUT I love them all)
-tunicates are under the phyllum urochordata which precedes chordata. Their main chordate feature is the notochord present during the 'free swimming' or larval planktonic stage.
- sea stars are echinoderms that absorb nutrients through the epithelia (skin) and tube feet. They have 3 general prey methods which include stomach eversion (melting with stomach juices), prying (attaching tube feet and 'pulling'), and crushing. Their muscles have an incredible ability to withstand a single position for hours.
