hello all. i am in need of some assistance with a chiller. here is the problem. i have a titan 1500 1/2 hp. it works fine. cools the water well. but it is rattling up a storm. took the cover off to see what i could do and i am stumped. actually i called aquamedic and they told me because of the wearhouse fire-- that they were unable to warranty anything because the papers went down with the wearhouse. how convienant. so they wont fix or help me with it. so i am asking anyone who is handy and can assist me in fixing this. it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

Did you buy it new? Have your receipt? I'd tell them you'd be glad to have your lawyer contact them. Their fire shouldn't be your issue nor void a warranty that you have.

i did kathy. they said they have no records of when i exchanged the last bad one they sent me and the warranty has expired on it. all its doing is rattling. i am sure someone can put fix this problem. i even offered to pay them to fix it and they said its now discontinued. i responded to that with " i am curious did the fire marshall determine that the reason you had the wearhouse fire was because of this now discontinued chiller?" they werent to pleased by that response. i can honestly say that everything i have ever bought from aquamedic STINKS!!! thats not what i really want to say but i cannot for the sake of the site say what i really want to. so if anyone wants to make a little cash or just plain help a fellow MR member with this issue it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

matt, there are not too many parts that would make noise.

mine got banged up by UPS, somehow the managed to bend the fan, after I bent it back it works, but still rattles a bit.

maybe something is loose and is vibrating?

Like Jhale said something is vibrating and there isnt many parts. I dont think it could be something internal on the compressor. It should be something fairly easy to pinpoint. Try holding anything you can to see if it goes away. Just watch out for electric and the spinning fan. Heres another thoght does the fan wobble on the shaft by any chance?
