Just would like know what people do after they have prepaired their water for water change or other purposes.

Please no bashing...:shhh:;)

I mix water (with the right gravity) and only a day or 3 later I use the water. I hold the mixed saltwater in a 5 gallon bucket with a powerhead opened top.

If you leave it with an open top for a few days, doesn't the evaporation raise your SG from what you originally had it at?

if you cap it after you mix it that should keep the evaporation to a minimum, well water loss to a minimum, as the water will just collect at the top of the cover and fall back into the bin.

I usually mix my water when I finish doing a water change so a week later I can do it all over. I usually keep it in a 5 gallon bucket with a power head, and a lid on top. I then throw my heater in a few minutes before and change away. I only have a 12 gallon so I mix 2 to 4 gallon batches.
