What's everyone else reading? Find any good new reef books?
What about non-fiction, any recommendations?

Is it about time we tried another group book read?

Just finished reading Sharp Teeth by Toby Barlow - It was a very quick read once you get used to the writing style of the author.

I read a few books this winter:

Pillars of the Earth - Ken Follett (excellent, really enjoyed it)
Night Fall - Nelson DeMille (very good, with a startling ending)
Last to Die - James Gripando (not bad once you get used to his writing style)

I'm in the middle of:
Rainbow Six - Tom Clancy (I was never really into military type novels, but I'm still reading it, albeit slowly)

I'm reading Brave New World for english class, the book is really weird but it makes you think. If you haven't read it already, I recommend you read it.

I forgot to mention, my parents got me these two books for the holidays.

They are great to look at, and "ocean" has a decent section devoted to the ID's of things we actually put in our tanks.
"Reef" comes with a DVD that's got pretty good dive footage of the reefs.

i just finished 'a brief history of nearly everything' by bryson. really fun science-lite book. 'the omnivores dilemma' was also a great book, highly recommended.

Agreed on History of Nearly Everything and Omnivore's dilemms....great books. I just finished And the Band Played On....a book I had been meaning to read for over 20 years. While totally out of date now, it still gives a chilling history of the early years of the AIDS epidemic...now I'm reading Still Life by Melissa Milgrom, about taxidermy. Also read The Whale by Philip Hoare....and the latest book by Richard Dawkins, The Greatest Show on Earth.

I've been chewing through Harry Turtledove's Southern Victory alt-history series lately; it starts with How Few Remain, and then there're three series that take the universe from the Second War Between the States through WWI, the interwar period, and then WWII.
