FYI: Keep the reseviour* at level with sump....if u keep it higher than sump like my dumb self did it will create a siphon and add alot of water to your sump=not good
I know you shouldn't do it but I did :
I used one of those kent floats in my sump off the RO with a small valve the valve is set so when the water level is low the RO water barely drips just in case the float fails the sump wont fill with RO water quickly I have had this set up for about 5 years and haven't had any problems
i've used the tsunami ATO and it worked as advertised just not very accurate, it would kick on when supposed to but would throw almost a gal of water before shutting down. i now use the spectrapure ATO and it is just a tad bit more accurate than the tsunami.
Just got the Tunze today. The instructions are vague and tiny but got it to work.More wires underneath my cabinet. The pump is kind of loud but as long as it does what it supposed to to.
The dual top off from autotopoff is great. Just set one up in minutes with an aqualifter and my tank has been toping off itself since. You can also look into aqua hub. I chose autotopoff, because I was a little lazy and eager to set it up and stop pouring water in my tank every day. How to build your own aquarium auto top-off system AutoTopoff.com
On a side note, yes the float switches can fail, but not if you pay attention and check them every so often. These two options are really all you need and are just a great deal.
