happened to me last year lost two gigas clams almost 2 feet long each not much you can do if your away when it happens

Jay, I'm sorry to hear about this diasaster....I feel your pain, I've watched you turn the tank into a phenomanol state, in so lil time, I'm sure once you take a deep breath, you'll bounce back! If you don't have the energy rt now, through time you will get that sudden urge to do it again!

As for ur girl, you know I can relate, it's hard for them to sympathise and understand how much effort and energy we dedicate to the hobby. They see it as a waste of time & money, as we see it as a hobby and a challenge!!!!

Ok, so Im going to get back at it, the surviving corals are looking good. Im only wondering if I should wait to re-introduce corals because there seems to be some cynobacteria and extra algae, that seems to of resulted from this catastrophe. I assume from all the dead coral causing a influx of nutrients etc. It seems to be going Away naturally, but I am going to chaqnge my phosban and filter sock, as well do a good 20% WC. But besides that my alk and cal are good, they were just nuked by chiller malfunction.
