I am currently figuring that part out but it really sux that instead of my loved ones empathizing with all of this loss there thinking im overreacting and not realizing how much of a loss this is and all I hear is "your more worried about ur stupid fish" instead of realizing to me it was my sanctuary, and my own personal escape from the traffic and headaches of the world.
Oh well maybe there right and I have to reevaluate some things

i think perhaps you are for a bit and that they don't understand from your perspective ...
think of it this way anything you own in your tank can be replace fairly easy but certain things in life can't

Did you hook up your chiller with a dedicated feed pump that is turned on when the chiller is triggered?
I've always been leary of these setups due to pump props not always starting back up.

I understand what you are saying 110% and altho others have points of things being replacable people also must understand LOVE for living things EVEN coral and fish can be like loosing a dog you have had for 14 years

dont dwell on it any longer. try n fix what has happened. listen to every1 here. take care of your personal stuff 1st.
its not that ur gf or others doesnt understand, its just that they have their limit on how much to put up with n apparently reached it.
non reefers will never understands this hobby like we do n dont expect them too. thats y we r a close knit community here.

bleached corals are still alive, yes keep those. If it is just pure white skeleton they're trash.

no, your pics aren't detailed enough to see polyp extension.
if you don't see any polyp extension, it is likely dead.
If you're unsure, you can wait it out and if cyano starts to grow on them, they are dead.
If they turn into a browned out coral, then that's the first step to recovery.
Since you're keeping SPS, I hope you know the difference between a browned out coral and cyano growing on a coral

Sorry for your trouble, lost a nice birdsnest to temp. Had it for 4 days and left the mh on over the weekend (office tank) and doa. Your loss certainly is greater but this gives you the oppy to set up better than b4. Don't take it out on anyone a big coral loss is better than sleeping alone - that is 20 years of marriage talking. Good luck
