...Once You Buy Big Never Go Back Small...

I must be a minority. I started with a 55 gallon freshwater around 24 years ago and have kept the same tank, converting to reef a number of years ago.

I did get a new nano tank, this past year and in the future, plan on breaking down the 55 gallon reef for a newer rimless setup.

Funny, on my older tank, I have tons of equipment and on my Solana, almost everything, except my auto top-off bucket is hidden under my cabinet.

So for me, I never had a desire to go larger, however, I have a big desire, to take down my larger reef tank and go rimless with an all-in-one with less equipment...

For me, size of tank, is also based on room setup. So since my office has stayed the same, I see no craving to go larger.

but where are the pics?.....the thread is let's see your fish tank room!!!!....lol:goldfish2

Here are pics:

This is display tank, in home office with a webcam, so I can view tank from various angles from internet, because webcam moves in all directions. However, quality of webcam is not that good.

...is that viper 150 watts on the solana? is it adequate for sps?...

Yes, this is a Viper 150mh. It is awesome for the tank. It reaches all the way to the bottom for my LPS. Not sure you can appreciate the really sleek and clean look this light gives to the tank...

Originally, I bought this light as an extra light and had purchased the the disco light on back order. I returned the disco light immediately, after trying this light out. Looks awesome and my SPS do well in this tank...

The negative of this light, is the plus and minus ( of the small foot print ). So it spreads light out ( like a a triangle ), so the Live rock makes use of this. I did buy another viper 250, but never opened it, because my SPS do great with light...

Also, with such an open top, my summer bill had to be really low, when all I used to cool this tank in the summer was the fan, compared to my display tank, which had my chiller on since May. Only needed my A/C on for Solana 3 days out of summer...

yeah thanks, + all the bars r 2 blocks away but not a bachelor anymore so I have time for a tank. Haven't crashed into it yet... The linckia was at lfs in 1.020 water. It's looking good but don't have high hopes for survival. Watching it carefully. At least it's cruising the glass where the algae is.

hehe BBC Life was the reason I got a tank in the first place.

Ahhh, I'm going over your build thread now. Very nice quality. If I had the space I would definitely do something very similar.

Hey Art,

It's not the same tank. This is the 57g rimless i upgraded to. The MP20 is sufficient if I put it to max or even 75% but I like to have one on each side so I just put a MP10 on the other side.
