in my estimation if you dont have that much evaporation that means you have a top on your tank which i have heard is not so good for ur aquarium.i have a 30 gal and i put 3/4 of a gal of water a day for evap.if i am wrong someone will chime in

Yeah we have a top on the tank, it's a Bio Cube, it's an entirely self-contained unit.

no one chimed in.so if i were u i would get rid of that cover and let rhe water evap.i was told to do this by a fellow member and it helps.it lets new clean water enter the tank everyday.it also alows heat to escape.

I had my 36 covered for a long time just to stop evaporation and I recently changed it to eggcrate. A pain in the neck cuz I dont have an ATO, but the system seems to be running better.
