Boozeman, don't read this.

I will be getting the boat ready at the end of next month (I know it's 20 degrees out now)
I always have collecting on my mind.
I still have about 12 grass shrimp, 12 mud snails and a hermit crab from last years collection when we went to Port Washington near
"Boozeman rock" to collect.

I paid a visit to Atlantis Marine World to drop off some filefish eggs (which hatched in the car on the way there) and stopped at my lucky spot on the way back. I scored about 100 mysis shrimp, 50 grass shrimp, 10 sand shrimp, a crab, and even a naked goby. The best part though is I scored millions (at least it seemed to be that many) of copepods about the size of tigger pods. Many of them were carrying eggs. Still too big for my filefish fry but still worthy of culturing :).

Hey paul i would love to join you on one of your trips this year. Never did north shore. I will be having my normal collecting trips this year for tropical fish. Will have a new net and some other new equipment for the upcoming season. Would you be game to join me again down here this year? I know Dom is always going to come lol.

Knugenx, you should read this thread and look at the pictures for last year in the Reefs Magazine, I don't know how to link to that.

But basically, because my boat makes a lot of noise if I drive it onto land, we have to get out of the boat in about 5' of water and walk to the tide pools on shore.
There are no tropical fish or supermodels there just amphipods, shrimp, snails, crabs, and seaweed. It is a 10 minute boat ride. We split tjhe gas which is about $10.00 or $12.00 each. I pay the other $4,000.00 to dock the boat.
We may take a longer trip this year to another collection site on an abandoned Island.
That site is much smaller but much more interesting. There is a nother place but it is about 45 minutes away where there are also turtles but I want to see how the boat is running.
