Please dont take this the wrong way, but reading your post is very painful - not because of what you are saying but because how you are saying it. Please go and edit it so it reads like English and then we can come back and do a group hug.

I'm not one for typing or speaking well for individuals that need a hug that bad :tongue1: Thanks for the advice and no insult taken.I'm sharing what I felt was something disturbing and asking advice. I found what I was exploring was a good "learning lesson" ! I'll try to write & speak alittle better .

Interesting post. It is horrible to see animals treated that way but that is the majority of pet stores. I only support the ones I feel treat their animals/livestock well. As for those puppies, TRUST ME THEY ARE FROM PUPPY MILLS

I see stupid people with dogs all over the city. I try to bite my tongue but if I feel the animal is actually suffering I always say something. It is all in the delivery of how it is said that can either actually cause a change and a positive impact or start an arguement and end badly.

The more I learn, the more it "FREAKS ME OUT" ! If I ever seen how they slaughter cows, I'll never eat beef again.I was really twisted when we went to Port Washington to adopt a pet .I felt so bad for all animals,then, I hear this rumor they recruit there pets from other states to raise funds.who knows if it's true ?

I don't know if that is entirely accurate. I do know they get animals from other areas from time to time (especially after Hurricane Katrina).

Should I close the thread ? I'm embarrassed at how I went there, against my own beliefs thinking it would get better. No longer will they get my bizz, and I will try to have my friends do the same.

how about the way cows ,chickens,and all the other animals we eat are treated,thats worst then any pet shop,does that mean im not going to eat meat?hell no if im hungry im going to eat meat .we are humans and all we give a s%$t about is us.thats why we are all in this hobby (just my opinion) :eat: we got no right to go in the ocean and take animals away from there homes just so we can look at them.but we can,thats why we do it.:lol_large

I hear ya ,just don't let me see the chicks and cows and I'm cool ......"I Have to eat Beef" .....If I do own a pet ,you can bet it's better off being spoiled by me, than in the wild ,depending on a the reality of what your taking on .I ain't keeping no cows or chickens :Yikes:

well look at it this way, If cows, chickens, and pigs weren't used as food they'd probably be extinct by now. But I do believe that those animals that we eat should be treated humanely. Which by the way is what I took from the thread, that Fishtown was not giving their livestock the care that they required.

Kinda off topic, but you see "cage free" eggs at the store. Do you think chickens like being w/o a cage?

FYI - ' Cage free ' doesnt necessarily mean they are not in a cage. I dont know offhand the various requirements for each designation by the various certification agencies ( free-range, cage free, etc ) but for instance, free range can just mean that the chickens have access to the outside area through a door in their indoor pens. The chickens are still crowded and rarely go outside because a.) they dont want to b.) the access is limited. Yet this is enough to be labeled ' free range ' in many places.

I will add this to the thread,If the Man upstairs said we have get rid of all the human flesh...ok..lets say race, and give back to wildlife and mother nature , I'd be first in line ready to go. I've got a lot to learn but pointed out and received replies sharing the same feeling about the care FT provides.There's two side's to every story and it what I witnessed.
