i have a 46 bow. So far ive been through 2 skimmers this week a Remora and Red Sea Prizm. The Red Sea does not fit right on my tank and the Remora was too loud plus my friend needed it so he has it now. i really didnt pay anything for either so they were worth a shot.

I've used the Coralife Super Skimmer. In my opinion it is a less than adequate skimmer. I did numerous mods to it and it still wouldn't perform acceptable.

For a small 46g tank I like the CPR Aeroforce HOT skimmer.

why do so many people hate on coralifes just wondering? Alot of people use them and i know people and stores that uss them and they seem to do the job just fine. i understand you can get a much better skimmer but most of them cost significantly more. The Coralife is on sale for 84$. For that price its pretty good. however im open minded and somewhat new to fish so im still learning.

hey

I've used the coralife supperskimmer before it worked great when I had my 46 Bow, its quiet. I was using the one rated for a 125, I wouldnt trust the skimmer on anything bigger than a 55 but if you not planning to upgrade its a great fit.

I found the CSS to be adequate, but it was noisy. Maybe it was just the position of the pump. For the money it's probably the best choice, but I think you'd be better of with one of the Octopus models.

I have use both the large and small skimmer. I didnt think the bigge one was any better so i just use the small one on my 75 gallon. It is good because it can be used as a hob or an in sump skimmer. it works a little better as a hob because of less head pressure. just losen the air adjustment knob almost all the way then tighten untill you hear rthe air sound change a little an wal-ah skiming a way. I adjust about once a week and clean out about every 2 weeks. Easy choice for me cheap and skims well. hob and sump applications. alot of people in this hobby belive in over kill. the water cant be clean enough. I no another way to clean the water..... r u ready?.........

do get it dirty. ta-da!!! i havent put food in my tank in about 3 months. All my fish are fat and corals doing fine. so i guessu if you must feed once a day then you might need a bigger skimmer and more water changes, and more problems and wondering were all the contaminates are coming from. that is when my corals started growing when i stop feeding and i stoped putting my habds in the tank. if you see a problem leave it alone it will fix it self.

So yah i think the skimmer is great and wouldnt wast my money on anything else. But i must admit it took about 2 weeks for it to breaking and another 2 weeks to get it to skimm efficently but soon enough perfecto.
