I feed mine Fuel and Phyto. Coral doesn't really eat Phyto, but it is food for other organisms in the water that the coral will eat. So its not a direct feeding. And some corals I spot feed mysis and brine shrimp. Like my Acans, hammers, frogspawn and hairy shrooms.

use the reef nutrition it is just generally better and doesnt contribute that much to nitrates, like i feed it every day and have no problems. they have phyto for clams, leathers and other filter feeders, oyster feast for sps, and others as well as live tiggerpods. i like the results i get off of it and my corals get kinda upset when i run out of a bottle

How about the kent ones like chroma plex. Zooplex micro invert coral excel
Everyone has their own secret formula that they feed and some don't feed at all .The Kent coral foods give me tons of algae growth, i stopped using them a long time ago.I use DT's Phytoplankton,Frozen brine shrimp scraped with a knife and Oyster eggs etc.mixed together.

Some corals do feed directly upon phyto, even some SPS. Pocillopora have been shown to ingest it as have dendronephthyas.

i like marine snow and frozen reef plankton. those orange cubes because not only do my corals like it but my clowns and other fish love it as well. but at night when my actinics every now and then i throw marine snow in and shut my tank down for an hour and all my corals even with the filter off fully extract and love it. does not cloud the tank nor ever spiked any water qualities. but everyone has there own opinion. the only other thing i throw in is triggerpods and dt's pods.

Oyster Eggs/tissue is one of the best food advancements made in the last decade for reefers. I use it to feed my sps and all my Xmas tree worms. Im happy to say that after a year of these difficult to care for animals, all 40-50 worms are alive and well. Ahvnt lost one and i think its due to the top-notch nutrition. I ussually make up a a cup or 5mls of oytser feast and 5 mls of rotifers. Mix that with about 20mls of tank water and mix it really well. It takes dilution and agitation to break up the tissue and eggs. This amount gives me about 5-6 good target shots for my livestock. I also use live phytoplankton (phycopure is a great product) to keep the micro fauna happy. Ive found that my Favia's respond to phyto feeds, it gets them to extend their feeding tentacles during the day.

The problem with these foods is whereas they are great nutrition, they are high in phosphates so you have to be careful or youll be battling algae blooms and compromised water quality if your system cant handle it.

Any larger particles I mix it up alot. Sprulina Brine, Mysis, Reef plankton and lately H2Os Coral food mix. All of these are frozen cubes and I soak em in Vitamins overnight. Cyclops, Baaby Brine are also frozen cubes that i presoak and my feather dusters love it.

Of course all these foods are probably overkill, I just like to mix it up cuz i think nutrition is the biggest factor in longetivity. Of course you need great, stable water quality this whole time too. To ensure i dont over do my feedings i target feed these foods with as little waste as possible and keep the coral feedings down toa couple times a week.
