That's sad to here Mark. I might have some dead colonies around if you need some. Honestly buddy. Your not going to get it back. First off, I still can't understand why someone would steal dead colonies. Not even to put in a calcium reactor. To me it's embaressing to think someone would have the -alls to steal dead corals. It would be even more embarassing to bring them back. So the decision is up to you in what you want to do. I would just stop bringing people to your house unless Its someone you really trust. It's sad because in this game there was nothing I liked more then going to see someones tank that looked amazing like Kedds, Twinreef,Smcooler to name a few. These people take us into there homes trusting us and give us a chance to enjoy there incredible reef tanks and things like this make people like myself not feel comfortable letting people come to my house to look at my tanks. What a shame. Good luck with recovering them though.

This is sad to hear, especially since there's no clear lead as to who might have done it. There's always risk involved in both having people you don't know enter your home, and going to the home of someone you don't know. The truth is that you wish everybody you met was on the level but that's not the case. The first time I went to somebody's home for frags I was very hesitant, and even now I do it reluctantly unless it's somebody I've dealt with before. I check the reefer ratings before though. I hope you recover your items but it seems like it really could be anybody (not necessarily on MR).

holy crap marc!! thats messed up!! i know exactly what hes talking about!! marc has always had those colonies..he never knew what to do with them..but always kept them..now i know why..they all have sentimental value..i too kept clam shells of my very first clams..but thats not the point..the point is thats really messed up for whoever did this..and marc..well..some of us know you..some of us dont..i myself know you..and know that you can find sooooooo much information about anyone because you have soooooooooo many friends!!!! ..and connections!!!! if we really think about it...how many times do we let strangers into our houses...i always check feedback and also make sure i have cell phones of whoever is coming to my house in case anything like this, or worse happens...we all need to be aware of everything and everyone..and honestly..i feel real bad for you marc...but even worse for whoever took it!! thats just wrong dude..we are all in this hobby together..my friends and parents are always telling me to be careful when people stop by..i say to them..."ummmmm these are guys looking at coral...doubt they would harm me in any way." But after reading this, now i will definitely be more aware. and what also really sucks........is the fact that i told marc maybe ill buy a few pieces and give them to my mom to put in her garden!! (she has some of my dead colonies, spraypainted!!)..so marc...i hope you find out...but even if you dont find out..i hope whoever took it would realize that these colonies meant more to you than just some dead coral...they were the main evidence of your hard work and dedication to this hobby..so PLEASE..whoever took it..PLEASE return them..marc is a great guy and ALWAYS gives great deals..theres no need for it..if you want it..ask him..maybe he will sell a few!! so bottom line is this....PLEASE RETURN THEM !! hes nice enough to say he will forgive n forget .. just PLEASE RETURN THEM!!

I would just like to say this, mark is one of the best guys I know. he doe snot cheet ppl on this site. he is a all around good guy, and yes it does suck to see that this has happened to him and I would not be supprised if some one came and took them to decorate and thought they were garbage. but still to go onto someones property is uncalled for. I know that mark will not start a fight or do any thing to to that extent, he has a good head on his sholders. I would like to start a collection and if we all bring some dead sps to mark at the swap I know we can have enought to give him that way when he looks at them he will know that his friends from MR gave them to him. I know I would and are going to do this because he always wants to help ppl out and I think as a reefing community we should help him out to return the favor.

Marc, I live in a very quiet town on a dead end street and I don't leave anthing out at all. No matter if it looks valuable or not, When I go on vaction my patio furniture goes right in the shed and gets locked down. I know it sounds like a broken record but you can only trust yourself and no one else, no matter how honest they seem.

Hey man I feel your pain and frustration and anger I lost my High School Graduation Ring many years ago for letting strangers tag along with some friends into my house. Sorry to hear about this. Was anything else at all taken? It 100% seems like it was a fellow member, if all that was taken were the coral skeletons. Maybe try checking with neighbors, to see if any person or parked car was seen by your house. Like numerous people have said, Karma is a b*tch!
