Changeing salts like that can stress your tank, especially if you are using oceanic... that stuff is the worst. 90% of the people I see that use it have insane cyano problems.

None of the SPS look like they are doing so hot to me. Some look like they are bleaching a little or shedding flesh and others look like they are browning. Can you try and take a full tank shot?

Something is definitely not right but it's hard to diagnose through those pics since they seem to exhibit several different issues. The key to SPS is stability. Even if your levels aren't exactly where they are supposed to be, keeping them constant and slightly off should yield good results, in my experience. Healthy SPS that are in great condition should still retain bright colors, even under flash photography.

The rubbermaid is 100gand is my secondary sump with a 100m sock then dumping into a 5g bucket with 5 layers of filter media, the water from here goes back to the tank/fuge/fragtank

ok from the display water comes thru this first stage sump, as you can see there are filter pads that trap some debris before entering the larger sump

Hey Bill, I don’t know if you remember be me but I was the guy who sold you a few bulbs not too long ago. I have seen your setup in person, and you defiantly have all of the right equipment and general ideas as to keeping sps successfully. One suggestion I would make is that your setup seems to get more elaborate every time I see you. Don’t take this the wrong way, but the best thing I find when keeping sps, is to try to keep things simple and take small steps. Maybe try eliminating some of the frag tanks, refugiums you have connected, and use a smaller sump, maybe just the tank that have on that wood stand? Just until you sort out some of your problems. What such an elaborate setup like this, it can make troubleshooting very difficult. Also to piggy back on what everyone has said so far stability is very important. I would recommend ESV salt especially to someone that has a serious amount of SPS. By far the best salt on the market. Contact Russ or Jim from saltwatercritters. They will give you a great deal I’m sure, if you buy a large amount of it at once. Investing in one of the PO4 meters is a great idea as well. I hope this helps. If you need a hand I can always help you out. Just shoot me a pm.

Well In terms of my calcium reactor I figured it out yesterday. Now Ive always cleaned it and blew out the lines but the line that feeds the water from your sump to the pump I had an issue with. My reactor would run dry every 8 days or so leaving my system dead on Calicum and Alk till I unscrewed the top and manually filled it up with water.
Yesterday I was on amission to resolve this since I checked it when I woke up to find it dry again. I took all these lines off cleaned them out and put them together agian many times and every time I would check to see if they had flow, they did but it always ran dry. I took the lines off yesterday whent into my garage a found a long cable the size of the ID of the lines and pushed it thru to see if there was any goo inside. OMG they were all full of live matter, jst enough to make the pump run dry but not enough to stop flow. This is huge in terms of me regaining my system back to stable. Next I will dump Oceanic salt and use my two buckets of D&D H2o, then back to esv. Im on a mission. I will be at the swap to restock my tank. Hope to meet some of you there.

From my own past experience, I learned a couple of things

1. Try not to overdue trace minerals and suppliments
2. Make sure your R/O water TDS is low
3. Make sure there is no possible contaminant getting into the tank. I once killed off an entire reef aquarium because my syphon for doing water changes was laced with an oil contaminant
4. Salt mixtures for large water changes need to be airated/buffered properly
