No, really though, there is usually a few rounds of food during the swaps. Most people know that and come in during the second or third round of food. There's only so many pizza's that can be made in an hour. And manning the food station is next to impossible for the admin as there's too much going on to prepare for upcoming activities. There could always be more help and this swap it was on the lower side. Shoot a PM to the admin.

Every swap there is food.

Every swap there are some people that decide to be gluttonous and inconsiderate of other hungry people.

After every swap, somebody says there should have been a staff of people handing out the food (which I agree, would stop people from being....people.) THEN, when the next swap rolls around, nobody volunteers to do it. If a group of like minded people got together to organize the food situation for the next swap, it would be nice for everybody. (The people who volunteer to work the swaps are very busy with their given tasks :) )

I guess my demos stunk, and the vendors had crap, oh and the discussion was pointless, and the led build demo was uninformative and the location was terrible, the staff un enthused, the volunteers didnt set up properly the night before, the volunteers that set up the venue the morning of did a terrible job, and auction didnt have anything good, the raffle had unappealing items, and all the members that were there just sat on their collective butts, and nobody had a good time and didnt learn a thing about a HOBBY we all enjoy...do i have that right?
cause if all your whining about is the food, pack a lunch...i was there
i mean your kidding me right...
all of it, from our host Josh and his family, to the last person that was there to clean up does this without concern for their time away from other things to bring you an event that when you go home you feel like you were with a great family. with smiles on your children faces..
and
you complain you couldn't fill your stomach..
disgusting, if this is what i put MY time in for you can have it because you cant find an event that makes you feel great when you leave.
You demean everything this group works for...
your f#&kin kidding me...

Mike, please relax...I don't want you turning sour after the great day we had yesterday.

If the food thing is a major concern, it will be taken care of at the next Pace swap. I noticed that at Pratt it is a little easier to feed everyone because of the set-up of the room, please don't let pizza deter you from coming to the next swap.

Please try to keep in mind that there is a HUGE amount of work behind the Swap, and try to put yourself in the shoes of the organizers. Nobody is perfect, things will happen, don't dwell on the small things when the event went really, really well.

oh and lets get some facts straight, i was siting right there when you two came in, there was puuuulenty of food for when AFTER the vendors and staff ate, which its always been this way. when you cam in you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time and Kathy ushered you out with the explanation that that time was for the vendors and staff to eat then everyone else, and your wife/girlfriend whomever got insulted and said Kathy was rude..now just because you felt uncomfortable that you got ushered out, dosent mean Kathy was in ANY way rude...its a fact, people feel insulted when embarrassed...wasn't Kathy's intention, but that's the way it came across...hence this thread
and since i was there, sitting watching...there was food, in the beginning, so lets not exaggerate because we felt a little embarrassed about being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Food - no problem. The first round finished before I got any, more food came - problem resolved. That round finished before everybody got, more food came - problem resolved. The way I see it, I got a couple of cookies to munch on as appetizers. No problem.

It is done. Next swap, it will be covered. You have my word.

this is what I saw in terms of lunch. At these types of events the lunch is just to tide you over till you leave. I saw many people with huge plates of food in one hand and 3 slices of pizza in the other. This is not the behavior you should expect to see here. I dont eat pizza or white bread so I left hungry. I didnt expect to eat but to gain some really nice corals and I did. For next year everybody who pays should get a lunch ticket like a raffle and they should have to present it to the server in which they will distibute one slice of pizza and one piece of sandwhich.

I like the idea of people having to pay for the food. That way people won't be pigs and MR can get a little extra cash out of the deal. And I don't mind paying the $25 to get in even though there is never food I can eat at these things (everything has gluten in it). For me it was a great swap...and IMHO Kathy's the BOMB! :thrash:

Please keep in mind that Kathy was helping setup the swap on Saturday from 6PM to about midnight, didn't sleep until after 2AM, was back at PACE on Sunday at 8AM and was still there after I left at 7:20PM. I would be tired and frustrated as well. Not to mention the food wasn't announced on the loudspeaker yet so people shouldn't be coming into the room with the food regardless.
But Chraddam can be there to police the food next time :tongue1:

I was there this year as a member not a vendor, I think its a great idea that the vendors eat first they are working hard to put this together and can't leave to buy food. The food is always great Josh and staff work hard. We as member have to be a little courteous to each other.I also saw a couple of member with 3 sandwiches and pizza. At the end there was more than enough food Once again Great job guys.

well first off,,,i followed people into the place where the foo was, i saw people eating,,,i paid for a event where there was food going to be served. so i tried to get some food ,,and kathy started yelling sayin this is for vendors,,and proceeded to push me out the door,,,not usher,,push. would u tolerate anyone pushing u or ur gf/gf or whatever. i have never been to a swap before. i was excited about coming to the event. and she was rude to me. then i step into the vendors area and all the vendors are sitting around with 5 slices on there plate or 3-4 sanwiches and im sitting there staring at them eating while im standing around starving. i purposely did not eat knowing food was going to be served at the event. no one has a right to touch me, or be disrespectful to me or my gf. i would of loved to volinteer to help but do to my schedule i couldn't. but i did pay 50 dollars to walk in the door and see the event and the vendors. it was well worth my money, but again i did not needed to be disrespected by anyone or ushered out of a area rudely.
