Well I woke up this morning to see that the controller reset itself ( Only 3hrs Of sleep). All the effort and time I put in changing the outlet names and programing them went down the drain. The worst part of it is I had to work today so i couldnt reprogram back

I think that might of happen last night. Well this morning. So tell me, with the serge protector, will the apex reset itself while plug up to the protector if something was to happen?

Surge protector (surge suppressor) is designed to protect your Apex from voltage spikes. With that protection your Apex should not reset any data but only loose power for some short time your controller has installed battery to hold memory. Without surge protector you can loose some fuse on the board or with bad luck even whole device.

You probably mis-read my post.
I think the programming/settings is saved to memory, similar to a SD card which doesn't need power, not like RAM which loses everything when it loses power.
I'm not quite sure there is a battery in there because the date/time resets when it loses power, but it'll re-update once its connected to the internet as it syncs the time/date from online. This solves the clock issue they had in previous controllers which was off by a few seconds which adds up to minutes or more per year

Well in my unit is battery for sure some people suggest to disconnect (unsoldering) battery from the board for permanent reset when i got back home and the display in my Apex was blank. I did it but doesn't help that's why I sent my unit back to Apex for fixing. You have option to synchronize time or not I don't like to synchronize time with my PC. I just disconnected my apex two times for 15 minutes and everything working good including clock. I have to find out why some units loosing whole data when power is disconnected even for few seconds.

Since you created dyndns... Print in web browser yourname.dyndns-web.com and check if you are able to login to your apex.
