didnt work, where would i put the dyndns at on the apex screen?

When you login in to your dyndns go to your account / service I don't remember exactly but you gonna se there link it should be yournickname.dyndns-web.com can you find it? If so click on it it should open login/pass window to your apex setup page. Did you downloaded small file from dyndns to your PC and installed it?

If your able to send out an email from the apex your network should be fine.

If your having problems connecting via //apex, try using the direct ip address. Also I found that google chrome is hit or miss for me (I'm on a Mac) and firefox and safari work fine.

What exactly is wrong with your network?

What ip address and port is the apex showing. Do you have any firewall programs running, if so try turning that off. I'm assuming that you can access the Internet via your PC which your trying to connect to the apex.

For me, I switched the port to 8080, so I need to put in 192.168.1.xxx:8080, obviously replace with your specific ip. Other then that, I'm out of ideas, I hear the help desk at apex is pretty helpful. If your trying to access the apex outside your local network , you need to set up your router for port forwarding. There is a great guide on RC one basic set ups.

Ah ok. I see you set up the dns account, what you need to do is create a host name for the apex on the account. Like apex.brick-brothers.com. Then you need to get into your router and go under the port forwarding section. Every router is different so you'll have to figure that out. I had other traffic going over 80, so I switch my apex to 8080. You need to configure the router to forward any traffic over a specific port to a specific ip address, which is basically your apex internal ip. Hope that made sense.

Once you got that done it should work. There are tons of sites which walk through the process of forwarding on specific routers.

So all these long nights trying to setup my apex network I gave up and ask reefoman (Good Guy) to come over to help me set it up. We spent a couple of hrs on it and still a no go. He suggested that I change my router. So I decided to give it 1 more try before I go out and buy a new router. Finally I go it to work but it only works when I type in my dyndns on my pc. It don't let me log on through iPhone aquanotes. I call linksys to get assistance but they wanted me to pay $30 before they can figure out what's the problem. Come to find out they didn't even know (losers). Sorry guys just wanted to get that off my chest. Btw I didn't pay them.

Cablevision blocks port 80 (web port) inbound so odds are it's Cable not you or the gear. Start off by changing the port the Apex uses to something like 8585. Also verify the the dynadns IP is your public IP not the internal 192.168.1.X

Odds are, he set to the private 192.168.x.x IP to the dyndns, because it would not work on his computer either if the dyndns was set correctly but the port 80 was blocked.
