I had a rock with 2 or 3 green hairy mushrooms. But now they are taking over the rock and killing some of my sps. I trying to keep up with scrapping them off the rock and next week they grow back.. So if you have any ideas let me know...

I had the same problem. I tried injecting them with hot fresh water, I tried injecting them with Joe's juice & aptasia X. I even scrapped them with a wire brush, they keep coming back
LOL I use a razer and they still come back... I even shot them with alk and they still came back.. I bet you if I wanted to keep them then they would die or something in my tank would eat them...

How about trade out the whole rock.
Hey wingo hows it going?
I cant trade the whole rock cause I have to many sps encrusted to it and if I move that rock it will move the other rocks in my tank a screw everything up...LOL so we dont want that...
Hey wingo did those led bulds come in for me and the other thing that we would need to get my moon lights to work again?

I have this same problem. I have tried everything mentioned above also with no effect. I plan to try PaulB's zapper when he gets some. I also can't trade or even pull out the rock.

Mine are also the green hairy mushroom and I keep them small with constant attacks, but its labor and mess I dont really want.

taggin along hoping someone has a trick!

If you have loose hairy mushrooms, please save couple for me. My clowns would love them and I don;t need too much light for them like the anemone.

Can you put anything on top of where the mushrooms were?
If there is anything left of the shroom when you cut it off it will grow back, unless you can keep it from getting light. Maybe some putty or another rock.

I was thinkin the same thing. Try a little Kalk paste. Mix up some kalkwasser and make it like a paste. Cut the shroom of the rock and apply a small glob of paste over the are. Be careful not too use too much because it could spike your ph.

I used the zapper but I didnt have the mushroom problem when I used it.. But now I gave it back and I have this problem... I dont know if it will work on mushrooms but if it does let me know will have to buy a smaller one cause the one I used was about 1 1/2 to 2 feet long and it was to big for my tank so I could only get things the I could see.(couldnt make turns under my aqua scape)
Now to go to the puddy....I DID THAT......LOL They grow from under it... Like I said if I wanted to keep them then they would be dying off but the dozens....LOL but cause I dont want them I cant kill them...
I will send you guys pictures of the one mushroom that came from under the puddy and rock that I glued over the spot it was....

I have used this technique with mixed success - Pull it off gently and completely from the base with a tweezer - I do this for red mushrooms that begin to encroach on my sps. As has been said before - if you miss just a tiny bit of it, the whole thing grows back and you're back to square one - but if you can pull the "foot" off the rock - try "tickling" a bit at the base of the mushroom and then grab the base with the tweezer. If you just start pulling it off by the top of the shroom, you'll never get all of it.

Good luck!
