That's crazy! This thread is getting crazier and crazier. Next time we are going to see is someone using thumbtacks and twine holding up a mh fixture. Haha.

The wood is screwed into the joists. I used the square pieces as there is zero flex when the light is hanging in the middle. I could hang from the middle and it probably wouldn't budge. I take the approach of over doing anything that "could" be questionable. Basically do it right the first time! Lol

I wish I can mount it to the joist too. Yes, better to be safe than sorry.
