omg......!........it is way louder than i thought it would be.....but wow......it has a loud hum....or does it need break-in time/.?.....

i find most pressure pumps espcially with metal housing is loud; however they r very durable. The noise is due to the 50PX end cap being vented for cooling, which transmits that all too familiar turbine whine.

thanks.......maybe i will have to modd it.....what external pumps would be quiet.....maybe eheim?
the tank is in my room......so it would be nice to have a quieter sleep....

Ive always used panworld pumps and never ever heard them hum or any noise ,try to clean the fans and see if there might be anything stuck in the impeller . I have the 50px-x panworld ,i love it like it is not even there

your tank is silent ronen.......but my pump is new....this is the new 50 im setting up......and with just the panworld pump running...its nowhere near as quiet as yours....i have styrofoam under it too......i dont know.....

If its new ,i would contact the seller and see if you can return it for another one ,it should be silent from the start .a few ppl changed over to pan world after hearing(well not really hearing:biglaugh: ) the pump .you can also try to take off the fan cover ,see if that helps

i had the panworld for a few months before i hooked it up........what if pvc glue got inside......would that f*ck it up?
