I bought some Softies as usual LOL.I knew something was very wrong when i picked up the bags and the water was purple LOL.I will not say from how or what because i spoke to the venders already. They were very understanding and decided to give the corals back.I'll let them hold for me next time .Thank you.

I bought a lot of frags at this swap, and I'm kinda astonished that I had as few problems as I did. I used a big shipping cooler that I got from my LFS when I was taking home some purchases, and pretty much everything went from the dealer/MR member to the cooler as soon as I got my hands on it. (With the exception of an elegance coral that I had the vendor hold until just before I was about to leave.) I had one frag bag zip-lock full of Armageddon zoas lose all of its water over the day, but they came through fine. I had a thermometer stuck through into the cooler, and a couple of heat packs let me keep it right at 80 through the whole day.

After I got everything home (at about 7:30,) unpacked into a holding tank (many kudos to the guy using a heat-sealer on his baggies, I loved that touch,) and dipped, I had one semi-casualty and one could-be-a-problem-but-I-didn't-get-a-chance-to-look-at-my-tank-before-work-so-who-knows-if-it's-fine-or-totally-RTN'd-at-this-point. The semi-casualty was a two-head blasto frag that came apart when I dropped it (literally) two inches to the bottom of a holding tank, partially shredding the polyps as they were still attached to eachother. The other was a purple cap that looked like it had some kind of bacterial problem on one portion late last night, but who knows what it's like today.

Over all, not too shabby. Much better than I'd feared. :)

Dre, very sorry to read of your losses!:( Happy that the vendor is helping you out.;)

Most of my corals were left with the vendors until I was ready to leave, especially my fish.:) But even those that went in to my un-heated cooler were fine. Only one showing stress is a wellsy, but brains do that to me. They go in my tank, and pout for a day or two.

Poor Dre...glad the vendor is helping you out. You are such a careful and methodical buyer, I know you had the perfect place in the tank for whatever you bought, and cleared it out before you left the house:)

5 out of my 10 SPS bleach after coming come today.. I didn't have a heat pack or anything, and i probably stress it more by doing a flatworm/redbug dip before putting into my tank =(.. But the zoas, LPS seems to be doing fine..

today? you post after midnight, which is technically Tuesday, even if you meant Monday, the swap was Sunday. What took so long to get them in the tank? and yeah, the dips stress the coral which doesn't help when they're kept in a bag for an extra day, and make sure you aren't leaving corals in dips too long.. they can kill even a healthy happy coral.

Sorry to hear Dre. I bought about 30 frags at the swap. As of this morning only one - the yellow lunar eclipse zoas - hasn't opened. I kept them in a styrofoam cooler with heat packs for the 3-4 hours I was at the swap. I drip acclimate them before dipping in pro-coral cure for about 10 minutes. If they look really unhappy during the dip (a couple did) I'll take them out early and put them in the tank.
