Official Statement regarding Clarion Angelfish

People,
I guess I should not be surprised that people have questioned our knowledge about the clarions. Contrary to JT's comments, he never mentioned a thing to me or Brad about them....can't really say why he would say that other than trying to make himself look good. He is no longer an employee of SDC for other reasons, nothing relative, just a coincidence.
If we had known that the fish were illegal, why would we have been exporting them overseas openly showing Fish and Wildlife on many occassions that we had Clarion Angels? We had them on our stocklist and were hiding nothing. Legally, we did nothing wrong. Ethically, we should have made ourselves more aware. That's pretty much our failure.
What people don't know is that we were the last ones to get the Clarions....these were supposedly the last of them unsold and we were offered to take the balance. A deal was made and we accepted the fish.
I now have seen all the previous posts about the clarions, which I had not read. It's been very busy and I do not get on to this forum often enough.
If other wholesalers are going to deny their involvement then that's their optinon. We are only trying to set the record straight about this incident and enlighten those of us here what we now know about the fish.
More truth is that we were embarrassed about all of this and we will be trying to avoid further involvement in these kinds of activities.

On more than one occassion, Mr. Cohen, I had discussed with you conversations that I had with Steve Robinson concerning the legality of the Clarions coming into LA. You told me not to worry and that everthing was in order.
Also, as you know, one of the things I did for SDC was to generate the stocklist every Sunday. When I saw that the Clarions were going on the front specials page I was concerned and asked Brad "do we really want to do this?". His nodded somberly and I said "I hope they are legal". Brad then replied, "I hope so too".
So, yes, I mentioned them to you guys but it is all one gentlemans word against another I guess so I am done with this thread and topic.

You have NO idea what you are talking about. Better get your facts straight before you start making insinuations my friend. There has been NO illegal activity involving Clarions at ERI International nor has the company been the subject of any investigation by USFWS on this subject. I know that you are potentially privvy to limited and malicious gossip via mutual acquaintances and former employees (which both you and your current employer are), but I sure hope that your body of proof on this subject is as big as your mouth is on this post. The facts on this fiasco are pretty well known, but in order to hear them from me you will, just like USFWS, have to serve a subpoena. Until that time feel free to drop by anytime you want to discuss this, or any other, issue face to face buddy.
