Well, to answer the flood of PM's and phone calls all at once and to dismiss many of the innacurate rumors currently floating around...

Plans have changed and I am now moving to Atlanta as of tonight. My flight leaves here (Orange County) in the next few hours. This decision was made earlier this week. I am heading out there to manage a modest retail store North of downtown.

So. Cal. sure has been an interesting experience on so many levels. I am sure I will be back from time to time.

For the record, I know nothing about this new store in the ATL area named "Fish Heads". All I can say however, is that it has nothing to do with my current employer, also named "Fish Heads", here on the West Coast. Any and all rumors of the two being the same are 100% incorrect. It's all just a weird coinky-dink of naming. The real, and original, Fish Heads is on the West Coast.

So long and thanks for all the fish.

SO anyone care to guess why this board has so many Georgia retailers on it?

And are you going to make us guess which one?

It is kinda odd.. :? ....I have never met Rover, and I would not recognize you if I was standing next to you. Jen I have met, but she acts like she doesn't recognize me when I am standing next to her . So its not do to any three way love trists............. Now add JT to the list of odd balls from GA whom frequent this addicting forum .

Heh I didn't recognize you that day at SunPet, because your hair was much shorter than it was the only time I'd met you prior (and perhaps you've lost some weight?) - about a year and a half before that :) So many men in this industry... you all begin to look the same after a while :) Not too many female-types high up in the retail biz, so most people have me at a disadvantage - they know who I am, and expect me to know who they are. For example, if I had $1 for every "Chris" in the biz in these parts, I could retire and buy that Lotus..... All of these Chris' seem to know me, but can't say I know many - 'cept one.

I've been at Sun Pet and seen you there, and Glenn on the same day - can't believe you two haven't met - perhaps I should introduce you sometime!

JT,
Your gonna love the Metro Hotlanta area, the burbs are pretty nice too. Learning the language is sometimes very hard to do, but I'll give two to say to every one....(that way you'll fit right in regardless of accent)......

"Hey Ya'll", works as singular or plural.

Good luck with what ever it is your going to be doing, and can I come to vistit?

No "All Ya'll" only works when "bitching" a group of ppl out! "Hey Ya'll" is a greeting used in place of ppl's names or anytime you want to address someone or ask a question. "Ya'll" is used just.................. well............for everyone. Bubba is also inserted instead of ppl's names.

There are very slight differences in Southern Slang. (will try to do this finecktickly). For example and the easiest word to use is Tire -
Tie
Tar
Ty-er

Another good word is Ask-
Ast
Axk
Astd

A good place to learn "Southern Slang" is the show "Blue Collar Commidy Show". Very usefull information there, make a note of it. It may save your life

I dont think you will find the locals flocking to the wholesaler on the first of the week like in LAX.

I thought it was quite busy for a Tuesday morning. We were mainly shopping for FW fish, I won't comment on what I thought aboot their SW system/fish quality. Although, I was a bit surprised at some of the corals available. Very decent selection, albeit a bit overpriced, of LPS for an East Coast whoresaler.

Now that your on the other side of both the Continent and retail/wholesale relationship.
You might learn to appreciate why certain things cost more here in the East.
Domestic airfreight has a way of putting pressures on eastern livestock costs ..........westerners dont appreciate just what a ***** getting stuff across the country can be,
until they have to pay the air logistics people out of their own bottom line.

I'll be in next Tuesday I hope. Been working 8-10 the past few weeks, so I hope I can get out there. I rarely look at their marine stuff, but they have a pretty decent freshwater and reptile selection.
