Anybody know the history behind bluelifeusa.com? Looks like a new company. They are drop-shipping through Central.

And they are also selling those silly donut shaped man made live rocks.

Blue Life USA was started by one of Kent Marine's sales manager Geremy Howell......

We have been selling their products for about 6-9 months now and have been just awesome. I think the best products so far have been:

Aiptasia Control
Red Slime Control

But the most impressive is the Phosphate Contol which is a liquid in a "lugols" type vile and dropper, which binds and phosphates immediately....so no more powders, reactors, pumps etc. This product is truly revolutionary for our trade.

Love the products, and am looking forward to seeing their new Double ended Metal Halides and PC's coming soon. Also they will have a high end supplement line coming soon too.

Best regards

Gresham,

Those Non Compete Clauses rarely hold water in court...and I really don't know if they had one with him or not...apparently not.

When Kent was purchased by Central, they "Blue" out all their district sales guys....so that's when some went on their merry way.

Have you tried their products?

Regards

Is there Aiptasia control revolutionary like the phospate binder? if so, what is it? is it white?

Im always looking for revolutionary products that will forever change our existence! :P

Tropic,

The aiptasia control product is similar in packaging like Joe's Juice.....bottle, syringe but is much thicker than Joes. I have used this product that doesn't run all over the place when you squirt the aiptasia and it covers the anemone like a paste.....really great product.

Happy to answer any questions...

Yah, NC's typically don'y hold water, but every once in a while..... Most are used to scare employees more so then to sue them in court :D

Trust me, I know all about the house cleaning, it stuck me as odd ;)

I haven't tried any Bue products yet. I say them at MACNA, but didn't get any samples or anything. One question, once the po4 binds to the magic product, where does it go in the tank (after being bound up). Can it be debonded at a latter point, dumping a boat load of po4 back into the system?

Gresham,

The phosphate precipitates out in the water after binding.

Here's the kicker.....

Directions say to only drop your phosphate 1ppm per day. So...you must test your aquarium's phoshate before dosing....

You can get some cloudiness in your tank from the precipitation if you overdose.....We have tested on my office aquarium and it's pretty amazing stuff.

Regards

And the precipe goes where Eric? It doesn't disappear into a black hole, nor does it evaporate out. If it's bound up, and precipes in the aquaria, it stays in the aquaria. What happens if it unbinds?

FWIW, I'm simply trying to understand this product more, I'm not trying to be contrite :D

Maybe I should email them for a more technical explination?

Gresham,

Eric has asked that I help explain how the product works. After the product binds with the phosphate it forms a precipitate. That precipitate will stay locked up as long as the aquariums pH does not drop below 6.0. If the aquariums pH drops below 6.0 there are far bigger problems than phosphates. Some of the precipitate will remain in the aquarium. Most will be removed by protein skimming and mechanical filtration. Hope I have answered your question.

Gresham,

I’m sorry to here that you did not receive a sample at MACNA of our products. I had a death in the family and was unable to attend this year. I sent Dr. Robert Hildreth and Bruce Lapham in my place with samples. Did you ask for a sample and not receive one?
:(

Nope, I just never left my booth and went to that area much. At the time, I only knew of the Aptasia product. Had I known about this one, I would have made more of an effort to get over there :D

Another quick question, which type of po4 does this bind up, organic or inorganic, both?

Gresham,

PM me to give me your information and I will get you out some samples.

To answer your question in regards to “what type of phosphates” phosphate Control will remove. All inorganic phosphate and some organic phosphate will be precipitated out of the water column with the use of Phosphate Control. Using this product with a good quality protein skimmer should help with the organic phosphate not removed by Phosphate Control.

Is the Aiptasia remover just calcium hydroxide? isnt this the same as the other guys stuff?

can precipitated phospate, be re-released from biological activities? i am sure that i have read from numerous sources that dissolution can occur from more ways then just ph dropping in the water column. What if the ph drops from acid secretions from metabolic waste on a microscopic level? What if grazers pick up the precipitant and it passes through them, would this not possibly release it again? I dont buy it. Phosphate binders have the right idea, they bind, and then they are removed completely.

I cant see how or why anyone would use products like these, when both can be controlled if the aquarium is set up correctly from the get go. It just seems like a bandaid for lackluster aquarists!

Same thing goes for cyano removing chemicals.

when aquariums are functioning correctly, there is no need. Of course more aquarists fail, then suceed, so i guess this leaves openings for quick fix companies to come in and solve ALL of the problems.

Gresham,
you arent really buying into this are you?
