I feel compelled to explore that option. What's the "buy it now" price?

So, where is the conflict?

Peter Rubec

Your selling them, your promiting your stock on this forum, that's the conflict my friend. Do yah think that if it was cool, this forum wouldn't be loaded with messages from all the wholesalers pimping their stock?

The second you joined the sales game Peter, is the second the rules changed for you online.

not meaning to attack you peter, but there's another conflict easily apparent in someone who has a personal vested interest in the retail/wholesale sector being involved in any stage of 'regulation enforcement' for any part of the industry, like a cdt test/certification

I've only been reading this forum for a couple months but I have to say it seems like an odd place much of the time. One thing I have noticed and that really confuses me is this tendency of many to attack Peter, shouting "conflict of interest" whenever he posts about anything to do with CDT. I just don't get it. The standards imagined by some about what comprises a conflict of interest boggles the mind. No where in any of the industries I've worked in is this absolutely whiter than white kind of rule a reality, it just doesn't exist. Industry stakeholders are always involved in discussions about regulation and many people find themselves both in industry and working for oversight agencies at various point in their careers. How can you regulate something you are ignorant of?

We have a man that has a considerable amount of on the ground experience with CDT programs who is acting as an importer for the purpose of studying shipping techniques. I understand n the end he's selling the fish, what else is he going to do with them? You could make the case that he could donate them but realistically he does have to pay for them in the first place, ship them and maintain them before they are sold. Where is the money for that going to come from?

I would also offer the opinion that it's not only unrealistic to search for this level of detachment but in fact a bad idea. Do you really want someone that has no experience as an importer offering his advice on the regulation of imports? Seems to me that kind of situation is going to end badly for those of us that are trying to be responsible in how we select animals to import. I can't see a situation where someone like Peter would find himself in a position to dictate the terms of future regular to the benefit of his particular interest, even if it were a completely commercial venture. If the lawmakers are looking for advice I want them to have the advice of someone who knows how the export system works and has found himself staring at a fish acting strangely in a holding tank thousands of miles away from that export station and wondering what the reason is. If he can figure out how to import clean fish I want him to tell me. I also want him to tell senator Bob from Wisconsin who has never been closer to an aquarium than the display at a Chinese restaurant so I don't end up with 15 forms to fill out, the threat of a massive fine hanging over my head and still no way to know if a fish has been juiced.

So what gives? Do those that are carrying this banner really believe we would be better served by excluding someone like Peter from any potential involvement in regulation?

I should also add lest I be accused of feeding the trolls that I've never met the man and have no dealings with him outside this forum. My questions are sincere.

I thank the last poster for his comments. I don't know who he is, but I agree with what he said. My efforts are for the benefit of the marine aquarium trade. For example, the tablets that we have developed to stabilize the water quality in shipping bags, will become available to the trade from Jungle Laboratories.
