I think you should add more than 120W of Cree LEDs. I would say a minimum of 180W.

My tank is 16" tall (40g) and I'm going to run one now and add second in a month or two. I think 120w that I can dim will work since I would like to keep mostly lps and Sps. For a 90g I would probably run 2 x 120w units that can be dimmed.

Double 60 watt .That's not enough to you.
Min: 180W
That's decided to your deep of your tank.
More depth.More power.
If you get a VHO
you need to think about its heat sink.
