Would you guys recommend either:

SRO 3000 - $400
XP 3000 - $560
AtI powercone 200 - not out yet who knows when

The SRO and XP are similar except the full cone body, but does it call for an extra $160 when they utilize the same pump?

For a 180 gallon mixed reef heavy bioload

I don't have pictures up, but I just picked up an I-tech Cone with a Tunze Hydrofoamer pump. It's only been running for about 24 hours, but it's already producing skimmate. Very quiet pump.

I'm amazed at the bubbles' lack of turbulence rising up the cone.

Figured I'd update this.. It's been about 1 week, and.. well.. what can I say? This skimmer is AMAZING. it's absolutely quiet, the bubbles are TINY, consistent, and w/out turbulence.

The amount of skimmate it produces is absolutely amazing.

Forgot all about this thread...love my NAC6. Cup was cleaned just yesterday.

Everyone should post pics along with what skimmer they are running.

I'm upgrading to a 120 gallon FOWLR for now, planning on going reef once stable, and a 40 gallon refugium wiht 200 lbs or so of LR. I'm thinking about the Seaside Aquatics CS2 or SRO 2000 INT. Does anyone know which is quieter ? Does one skim better ? One add less heat to system than another ? Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks !

The SRO skimmers are great. I don't know much about the Seaside Aquatics skimmers though. The 2000 will be good for your tank size.

As for me, I just bought a Warner Marine K2. This will be the 3rd Warner Marine skimmer I've owned. What can I say? I love them. :lol2:

The I-tech is really a fantastic skimmer, but it's a tad undersized for my system.
